What a class that would be.....

How does this list of recruits look?
Like Dawg Recruiting porn... careful, you might get the ban hammer.
Some thoughts below though:
quote:
Micah Parsons
Probably not at this time from everything I've heard thus far... comments re: maturity and parents want him closer. That's been a couple of weeks now though, things change quickly
quote:
Cade Mays
Not sure how real this one is, but definitely keeping an eye on it. 5 OL in this class seems awfully high, particularly with Netori and Isaiah headed for redshirts from last year's class (has Shaffer been in a game yet this year?)
quote:
KJ Henry
Not sure what I think here... my gut says we miss, but we're in the mix at least
quote:
Tyson Campbell
Trending hard... got the visit this weekend over the Alabama/LSU game, so that's pretty big.
quote:
Trey Hill
Some positive momentum at least. Still lots of Auburn interest though
quote:
Luke Ford
Like that Alabama seems focused on the JUCO guy... works in our favor for sure if they stay aimed there
quote:
Rick Sandidge
Mama wants USC... Mama is hard to beat... no biggie though, as several DT recruits with interest of similar caliber in: Cooper, Trout, Barmore... ratings maybe not equivalent, but all very talented DTs
quote:
Kearis Jackson WR
Alontae Taylor WR
Elijah Moore WR
Call me crazy, but I find it hard to believe we'd take all 3 of these guys unless one is more likely to transition to the defensive side of the ball. Not sure how real Alontae's interest is either... think he said he wants to remain committed to UT through any visits (could be confusing him with another recruit).

Dude is criminally underrated IMO. Does Hapeville Charter not play very good quality competition?

Micah Parsons WDE (6-3 / 235)0.9983 (+29.65)

Cade Mays OT (6-6 / 318)0.9900 (+26.27)

KJ Henry WDE (6-5.5 / 235)0.9895 (+24.81)
quote:
Rick Sandidge DT (6-5 / 288)0.9419 (+8.52)
It would be nice, but I think we have little to no chance at getting the above.
We are in it for the guys below....but it will be very close:
quote:
Trey Hill OG (6-3.5 / 346)0.9798 (+20.67)
quote:
Alontae Taylor WR (6-0 / 182)0.9346 (+5.85)
ETA
Just saw yours, Fib....looks like we are pretty close on what we are thinking.

Our high school Jefferson County Warriors played them in the 2nd round last year at Banneker High in West Atlanta. Chris will hit you and is great in coverage. Glad we are getting him.

That is probably the most optimal class you could put together. You can take Parsons, Mays, Henry, Sandidge, and Taylor off, in my opinion. If we get even one of those, I will be surprised.

Guess there is a interview with Mays on 247 and they way he answers a question about Jam makes it seem like Jam is already committed to us..... Mays also makes it seems like he is interested.

Assuming Jamaree Salyer, but definitely had to give it some thought. Had not seen anyone abbreviate his first name

Mays and his family were the ones who reached out to UGA for the unofficial visit this weekend, gotta be some real interest to initiate that and pay their own way.

Webb to DB and the two next year allow a possible third. Wouldn't take one until '20.
WR is one of those positions that may get one of those last spots, along with QB, OT, & LB.

Guy is a beast. Eval on him was great. Great tape every week.
Anybody that does a mock wish list without Reese has not watched his tape.

I would be very surprised, but it is possible. However, they aren't that far away. People drive for hours to see leaves that have changed.

I think we might land one of Henry/Mays/Taylor... I think Sandidge and Parsons are almost definite no's though.
Not going to play the attrition game, but if I take our current commit list:
Justin Fields
Zamir White
James Cook
Adam Anderson
Azeez Ojulari
Kearis Jackson
Elijah Moore
Devonte Wyatt
Caleb Tannor
Warren Ericson
Chris Smith
Aaron Brule
John Fitzpatrick
Owen Condon
Tramel Walthour
Rachad Wildgoose
Jaevon Becton
Jake Camarda
If we're being a little less Disney, I could easily see us adding to the class something that looks like this (in cases of OR, best guess listed first):
Jamaree Salyer
Trey Hill OR Cade Mays OR Daniel Faalele
Tyson Campbell OR Gilbert Frierson
Otis Reese
Channing Tindall
Christian Barmore OR Robert Cooper OR Trevor Trout (edit per AD comments)
Luke Ford
Alontae Taylor OR JaMarr Chase OR Josh Vann
Adding some combination of those 8 spots would put us at 26, so 2 over what I believe will be our max for this class...
Assuming some way to make the numbers work (grey shirt/back counting magic/etc), that would give us:
QB - 1 (#1 overall)
RB - 2 (#1 and #3)
WR - 3
TE - 2
OL - 4
DT - 3
DE - 1
OLB - 3
ILB - 2
CB - 2
S - 2
K - 1
If I take my best guess (first name listed) for each of those spots, it gives a total score of 306.34, and average recruit rating of 92.2 (92.7 if you exclude Camarda, since kickers get jobbed on ratings).
Still plenty of room for shake ups and surprises, but that's a pretty reasonable projection IMO. Actually comes in a little higher than last year's class on what many would have guessed to be a down year for us.
Adding +19 Blue Chippers to the roster
Graduation attrition (did quick scan, could be off... let me know and can update) - ** denotes blue chip:
Brice Ramsey**
Nick Chubb**
Sony Michel**
Christian Payne
Jeb Blazevich**
Isaiah Wynn**
Dyshon Sims**
John Atkins** (was 3* after going to Hargrave, but originally low 4*)
Davin Bellamy**
Lorenzo Carter**
Reggie Carter**
Malcolm Parrish**
Dominic Sanders**
Aaron Davis
Cam Nizialek
David Marvin
-12 Blue Chips... net +7 blue chips in total.

Not really addressing what you said here...but it should not be underestimated what he has done while here. He's been great, imo.

Makes sense. You'll see in my "less Disney" projection above, I included a spot for WR.

I'm good with that. I *like* Barmore a shade more, but had no real inkling as to where we stand with him vs other teams.

Dude... he is definitely somewhat of an unsung hero. It is no surprise to me at all, that even last year when we struggled to run, when he was in the game, we averaged more yards. I do hope that we're scouring for more PWO fullbacks. I recognize it's tough to use a scholarship on one, but we have gotten a good bit of mileage out of CPayne.

A few big notes just dropped on Rivals, mostly about who's enrolling/signing when but it also looks like the Mays interest is real. That official visit he set up for Dec 15-17 somebody mentioned earlier is legit and he's signing right after that on the 20th. Their sources believe it's a two team race and we're a part of it. Like somebody was saying earlier, he's got a couple of 5* commits in his ear, which is always good. I didn't originally think there was much to this when the rumors of his decommitmemt came out, but it might be time to hold on to your butts.

My apologies. We're out of it for Trout.
