Seems like the committee looked at Vandy, UGA, and USCe as a 3rd SEC team and picked Vandy as the safe bet of those 3

Like I've said the last few days, I think we were a 3-4 seed, but after the UK game, believe we are a 3 seed. Either way, we would be playing a 1 or 2 seed in the 2nd round.

I guess that was the "safe" pick but man after going 5-1 our last 6, knocking off SC twice in the last week or so, and giving kentucky all they wanted, I hoped that we'd get a little goodwill from the committee.
I can't say they're wrong though.

Consider in it was us that actually knocked USCe from that spot Vandy got....

Agree. We absolutely didn't deserve a bid.

Looking anywhere as high as a 2 seed and as low as a 4 in the NIT. Kinda what we expected.

You still want Fox fired kneehigh?

Syracuse getting in over us is a joke
Same record, we had a better sos, rpi and went 5-1 the lst 6 vs their 1-5.

They had 5 wins over top 50 RPI teams and played in a MUCH tougher conference where they had 1 less loss than us and had no really bad losses...take off the red and black goggles
ETA: 5 of their losses to top 20 schools and they did beat TAMU...who won our conference regular season

I truly wonder if most people grasp the history of UGA basketball.
the run we're currently on is up there as one of the best we've ever had in the entire history of the program. But I guess since we don't have any final 4s we should cut bait and move on :/

I fully grasp our history WG.... It is the best run in our history... You still can't ignore the poor coaching in some of our conference games this year. You beat AU and Ole Miss, you're in serious contention for a bid.

^^^^ Those are your words from your fingertips...so assuming you believe that, you then want the coach to be fired? Do you now realize how absurd that logic is?
This isn't football where you can reasonably assume someone else can capitalize on Richt's success and take us to the next level. This is basketball. It's not like we're going to fire fox and pick up gregg marshall or something.

Who's ignoring it? Surely not me. I also can't ignore the almost unbelievable difference in where our program sits this minute compared to where it was under the predecessor.

Why do we have to do this once a week? We have like 7 wins this year by 5 points or less, lose those and we're not even in the NIT.

In the 21 years of 1983-2003, we had 11 or so teams that were dance bound, so this 2 of 7 currently is off that pace.

Or you could compare apples to apples and compare equal stretches of time.
Fox's 7 year run (and honestly, can we blame him all that much for his first season considering he was taking over felton's mess?) is up there with one of the 7 year bests we've ever had. No of course it's not THE best, and he's defintely not the best one or few coaches we've ever had either, but he has us consistently good and consisntly in the mix for posteason play. And considering our history that's pretty damn good.

Well shite. I don't want to play UAB. I lived in Bham when haase was first hired and I thought then he was a pretty good coach. Passing of time has only solidified that, he is going to catch on wiht a big program sooner than later.
What sucks even more is that they play a really fast brand of basketball (I remember the commercials saying UAB was about to be "haase fast"), and obviously we can't break a press to save our lives.
Anwyays....I don't get espnu so we someone please update here as we're announced
