really need a win tonight to get some mojo back. Missouir is not a good team at all and we thrashed them last year. Our 1st half SEC schedule (prior to the big 12 challenge in the middle) is much more difficult IMO than the 2nd half so it's huge to get wins when we can heading into that backstretch.

Yep, definitely a needed win. You got me thinking about the schedule so I did the stupid thing I always do with basketball and tried to project how I think our conference schedule will shake out and if that'd get us in.
Right now we are 7-4, with 17 SEC games and 1 non-conference game left.
From looking at the schedule I think we finish the regular season at 17-12. Not a great record, but our Strength of Schedule will be good, definitely top 20.
I think one win in the SEC tourney would get us on the bubble in that scenario (bringing our record to 18-13), two wins would get us in for sure, or at least feeling fairly confident on selection Sunday (19-13).
Obviously I'm completely blindly projecting, but it's something I foolishly enjoy.

Honestly I think that's a fair assessment right now. This team (this whole program, really) is really close to becoming a solid contender in the conference year in and year out. The talent and depth is starting to show up, now it's just a lack of consistency that is holding us back

So where are we tournament wise? Can we still make it? What games are must wins if so? I'm not very good at figuring this stuff out. I feel like this loss hurts because we are still winless on the road.

Gotta beat Mizzou, Tennessee, and A&M to get back in the discussion. As of now, we aren't looking at shite...

not good, probably out. With a team like ours, those swing games are massively important to your resume. As of now we've mostly beaten the teams we should, but have no really standout wins, have beat and lost to a handful of good/ok teams, and beaten the awful teams. We're celery, we're mashed potatos...we're bland. We're just kinda sitting there. Games like saturday are huge because it's a pretty good team, that will finish with a good number of wins, on the road. Those are ones you really need.
You don't have to have them all of course. But as of now we've lost to OM and UF, in addition to 2 OOC games we should have won that don't help us much. We're looking at a razor thin margin now. The league is way better overall than it was last year, so we're basically out of gimmes. Win the next 3 in a row and we might be back in business but it's going to be tough from here on out.
Going into the season, I thought we'd be a bubble tourney team but should easily make the NIT and I stand by that. I'll be very happy if we're hosting an NIT game after losing marcus and nemi.

Best thing to do now is hope that Turtle Jackson continues to develop as a guard so somebody can fill the hole that Kenny Gaines is going to leave behind. That and hope to god that Ogbeide continues to develop his shot and stamina so we can get Kessler out of the starting lineup.

Pretty close to a must win tonight if we want to make the NCAA tournament.
We're favored by 5.5

Good win over Tennessee. Can't remember the last time we scored over 50 points in a half vs. an SEC team. If we didn't have so many turnovers we could have won by 25.
Huge game Saturday at home vs. #15 Texas A&M.

Clemson also picked up a win over Duke. That's good news for us.

That is big. Both Clemson and Georgia Tech have played well since receiving spankings in Stegeman.

Current RPI is 65, hopefully we can get on the right side of the bubble soon

Beating A&M would be huge. It's manageable at home

it'd be massive. Still can't believe we let ole miss slip away. Although I've witnessed us have games like that forever now.

Not about to hold my breathe that we beat A&M but if Yante plays like Yante and JJ and KG can get open, we have a little more than a punchers chance.

I see this team finishing 15-14. 17-12 is best case IMO.

Absolute must win tonight @ Mizzou. We're favored by 2.5
