In college, Adrian Hubbard is 6'6." Demarcus Ware is like 6'5" iirc
That said, Key is not a top target for UGA right now at OLB

How many 6-5, 6-6 OLBs have there been in 3-4 defenses?
How many DE have you seen play at 200 lbs? Kipp Adams of 247 said Key is tailor made for OLB, hence why Bama and UGA have both offered. He is can play a lot of positions (4-3 or 3-4), but to say he DOESN'T fit in the 3-4 is ridiculous. And coaches of 2 major programs (UGA and Bama) would disagree with you.

Hmm...his weight of 215 was posted before his JUNIOR year in HS...I imagine that his frame can more than hold 35-45 more lbs, and he may already be on his way to adding it on at this point. The question will be will Key WANT to play OLB or DE?
Sawyer was offered by BOTH Bama and UGA, but they cooled on Sawyer NOT because Sawyer was a poor fit in their 3-4 systems, but because Sawyer didn't want to gain weight and become a DT, and wasn't a fit athletically to play OLB. So therefore he wasn't a fit for either's 3-4 scheme. IMO Key's best position at the next 2 levels will be as an edge-rushing DE...

Sawyer doesn't have the frame to put on more weight and retain his explosiveness, at least that's what some people say. He also didn't look like his grades would make it. I don't know what the status of that is now but that's off topic.
Point is, Key's long frame is likely a positive, not a negative. The 3-4 thrives on length. If he packs on 35-45 more pounds like you said, he could thrive in the 3-4 edge rusher role just the same as a down lineman in the 4-3. His height gives him scheme flexibility

Leonard Floyd is 6'6

This is 110% false. When Sawyer attempted to commit to UGA or Bama last year, he was turned down. According to Radi Nabulsi (formerly of ESPN DawgNation), CTG didn’t think he had the frame to carry the necessary weight to play in the 3-4. Obviously Saban and Smart agreed. You are misinformed, but I have a feeling you won’t acknowledge facts. So move on

Will Friend will be trying to make visits soon to see OTs Mitch Hyatt, Kaleb Kim, and Chuma Edoga.
We're also paying a visit to TE Jackson Harris of Columbia, TN. Looks like Harris and the CN kid will be our top targets for TE this year. I think we're pushing for 2 TEs in this class for depth. Hopefully this won't push away our top 2016 TE in Nauta who supposedly also has some interest in Clemson.

How do we stand with Campbell? He's probably the best HS WR prospect in a long time. Maybe since Calvin or AJ. My UF buddy is saying he's a UF lock. Knowing our success in Florida, any chance we can land him?

We're in the hunt, but it's a longshot. He's a great athlete but isn't nearly the receiver that A.J. or Julio were. Doesn't have great hands

Fuuuuuukk. Product of coaching turnover. He's going to be really good.

Not when we're getting Trent Thompson. And not if we can steal Shy Tuttle.

We need 3 DT next year. Especially it we only take one this year.

Take Quay Picou out of Buford?
Posted on 1/25/14 at 10:27 pm to tylerdurden24
The top 3 DL targets seem to be Thompson, Tuttle, and Albert Huggins out of SC
Posted on 1/25/14 at 10:28 pm to Crowknowsbest
Do we really have a shite with the other two?
Posted on 1/25/14 at 10:30 pm to Swin
I think so. Huggins has said we're his dream school. UGA is second to Clemson right now I think. Not sure on Tuttle but he's been a clear priority target
Posted on 1/25/14 at 10:31 pm to Crowknowsbest
Crystal Ball from Gerry Hamilton of ESPN has Huggins to UGA. Tuttle is in NC. Gotta think with our history in NC plus Pruitt and Rocker, we've gotta have a puncher's chance

Got a contact close to SID at UGA who is local NC sports writer and grady grad who has given names of Shy Tuttle to the staff, Jalen Dalton, and Darian Roseboro. Says Tuttle is good and his size helps but says Dalton will be much better player when its all said and done. He said if Dalton gained 30 pounds everyone would be saying Shy who? This is also the same guy that found the great Tony Flack and sent his name in! Has a great track record of predicting under the radar talent. I've seen Jalen Dalton play and he has much higher potential with good s&c program!
