Carter and MacMillan have no equals at their position in state next year (or nationally, for that matter) UGA needs to fight like heck to keep them

If they don't want to be here then I don't want them. How some of these boys turn there back on there home state makes me sick. Richt knows what's he doin, weedin out the bad apples

They both have offers from Bama and are being recruited directly by Saban... we need them, if for no other reason, to keep them out of his hands.

Let Saban go get 5 stars from Bama, LA, MS, FL. Let Saban get Hand from VA. That's fine.

We can't let him have these.

247 lists no offers from Auburn for Raekwon (love it) McMillan, but his hometown Hinesville is very close to Auburn, I'm sure there will be an Auburn offer any minute.

If he's weeding out the bad apples, why is he actively trying to get them to play at UGA and offering them scholarships?

This argument is flawed. Richt and the staff's job is to make them want to be at UGA.

First of all, neither you or I know what he says to recruits, and who he chooses to recruit. So you don't know who he actively trying to get. They might have a scholarship, but that doesn't mean they can commit to the G.

Don't you know there's a reason why thug players like Foster won't be wearing the G?

Because he wanted to go to Alabama. He could have gone to UGA if he wanted to. Stop being dense.

Because Richt won't recruit thug players?

Sure lets just take thugs like Saban does. Hey he might have character issues, but hey let's sign em!

I think I get it now.

Richt offers scholarships to 5 star thugs just to keep the fanbase and media believing that he's trying to get top talent, but behind closed doors, he tells the kids they have no place at UGA because they are thugs.

Richt and Saban recruit all the same players. We have just as many thugs as they do. Don't kid yourself.

You obviously don't know Richt, and the type of man he is, and what he stands for. Sorry

Isaiah Crowell says hi.

You are very naive apparently. I don't doubt Richt's character. I think he genuinely wants to help the kids he coaches. It is his job to win games, and to do that he sometimes needs to recruit some guys who aren't exactly choir boys. That's all. Some of those guys manage to stay out of trouble, others famously don't.

My (realistic) Top 5 Wishlist:

DE- Lorenzo Carter
DT- Elisha Shaw 6-4 295
LB/DE- Raekwon McMillan 6-3 236
DT/DE- Dontavious Russell 6-3 300 (5.2 40)
OL- Orlando Brown 6-8 345

All in-state guys with 4 stars and Carter as a 5*.

If we land those 5 guys, I don't care if every other player we land is a 3 star and every other player we miss goes to Saban.

If we add more OL depth with 3 stars, fine.

Richt saw the light in Crowell, and wanted to save him. Either Crowell exploited Richt, or he was just too troubled. Richts only fault is his belief in Christ, if you consider that a fault.

But don't sit here and act like Saban, and Richt are the same people, or the same kind of coach. Saban is scum

Man, please go start a thread on the SECrant with that as the title. Come on, I'll give you a dollar.

Not saying that at all. They are two very different people, clearly. Richt is a better Christian. Saban is a better coach.

Arguing that UGA only recruits better kids than Alabama is asinine, however. There's a reason UGA is a perennial contender for the Fulmer Cup.
