Perhaps, but unlikely. Williams going in the 3rd was a shock to most, but it shows the unexpected can happen. Many mocks projected he would be picked, just not in the 3rd.

However, there are some big differences. Blades played a partial season and is coming off an injury and over a year away from football. Williams changed positions and became a starter, so some may have thought he would only get better as he learned the position (higher ceiling).

Time will tell, but my guess is he and Ausbon will be UDFAs, who will likely be "some of those guys" to whom Jayce referred that will "never play the game again."

Didn't Brandon Williams also run a sub 4.4 at the combine?

I thought his measurables was another reason he went higher than expected, but I was too lazy to look it up, so I didn't comment on it.

Yes (4.37), which is why I said Blades probably wouldn't get drafted...
