Hoping Washington wins tonight. I'm taking my niece and nephew to the UW/Stanford game and I'd rather have a 5 pm kickoff than a 12pm kickoff.

Did someone pay Wiscy's QB to give this shite away?
Posted on 8/30/14 at 11:32 pm to Projectpat
I was just wondering if they have a QB that can actually throw. Obviously they aren't going to run the ball down the field here...I don't think
Dude is 8 for 22 for 50 yards and 2 INTs. Seriously?

so, for the record, 3 ranked teams lost this week*
#9 South Carolina
#14 Wisconsin
#16 Clemson
The one thing the three have in common - they were all beat by SEC teams. But it's all hype, right?
*#25 UDub is still playing in Hawaii

I'll participate as long as I'm at home watching. I'm going to four games this year (Arkansas, OM, AU, LSU) so I'll probably be out of commission for those weeks.

Washington should win this, and will be 5-0 when they face Stanford.

Notre Dame will likely move into the top 10 with their massive victory. sips will jump 10 spots.

Notre Dame won't, but watch Michigan jump in to hype the last meeting between those two schools.

didnt you hear south carolina was the most overrated team in the country and we are second?
also, wtf was gary anderson doing in the second half? Everyone on twitter knew that wisky could sit on a lead as well as anyone, somehow their HC didn't?
Melvin Gordon avg'd like 10 per carry but got less than 5 in the second half i believe.

Just noticed. UDubs starting QB didn't make the trip because he got in a fight after a Seahawks game and got his arse suspended.

Great thread... I watched some football before going to work... mostly ark/auburn and parts of the Bama game. Then an hour of the second half of the LSU game on my lunch break.
Three little things to point out...
1) Auburn has has a really really good receiver in D'haquille Williams at WR. Just torched Arkansas all game long. It was like first step, boom I'm open. Kind of scary if they had a potent passing game because Sammy Coates isn't bad himself and he had just 1 catch today. But like mentioned earlier here before their defense wasn't too impressive. Arkansas has some talent in certain positions as well but Brandon Allen isn't very good, and because of that it looks like another bad season for them.
2. The big 12, hats off to them for the most part because West Virginia and Oklahoma State really competed well against #1 and #2. I don't think anyone expected those outcomes tbh. I certainly didn't. Alabama has some holes on both sides of the ball, and would have lost today against a more talented team if it came down to it. But Henry and Yeldon didn't disappoint either. Both looked great.
3. Wisconsin should have won that game. Their quarterback was absolutely terrible second half, wow. Their defense's scheme vs the run was really strange too. When Hilliard ran 3x in a row for 50 yards and a score one drive, a one legged blind man could gave done the same, given the opportunity. Huge WTF? There...
Overall a good first week in the books, whoop!

The problem SMU has is their offensive line sucks, and their WRs suck. And neither QB is particularly good. But otherwise their offense looks fantastic.
In all honesty, I'm not sure how good Baylor is, but they certainly know how to dismantle lesser opponents with the best of them. They aren't executing as crisply as we did in their first game, but the talent gap is massive and it really doesn't matter. SMU has no answer as far as personnel and unlike, for example LSU, Baylor doesn't let teams like that stick around.

SMU is just terrible. Garrett Gilbert must be better than we thought to get 5 wins out of that mess last year.
Tennessee looks pretty good.

2 years ago they were mediocre. Last year they were bad. This year they look gawdawful. I don't get what June Jones is doing but for an offensive genius, he sure looks to have mailed it in.

agreed. I know little of USU other than they were pretty good when Anderson was there so they may suck. But UT looks fast and well coached. That's a long way from how they looked last year.
