I think he would have been the only one to be a threat who was hirable (Saban obviously wouldn't move). Feeling much better about our future prospects. Hope he stays retired as per this report.

No doubt he’d be a big hire if the whorns were able to pull it off. But they are a mess right now and anybody who’s watching their program knows it’s basically a rebuilding job again, plus dealing with all the boosters/AD. It ain’t an easy job.

If you believe he truly has a medical problem and his quitting wasn’t just excuses, then it really makes sense. Dude already has a ton of money, live longer with millions of dollars in the bank, or live a shorter life with more millions. I know what I’d choose, but again, I’m still skeptical of his conveniently timed medical problems at Florida and OSU.

It’s pretty much comedy at this point: sips search for a coach, throw out a few big names, get turned down, and eventually settle for someone who is way down on their list. And still think they’re the jonses of the college football world. Rinse and repeat.

Now the sips are saying that Urban is waiting until after signing day to not mess with tOSU's class, and they will sign him in January. Also, supposedly Saban is retiring after the year so Urban won't have to recruit against him

Quite an imagination
