So are we going to make this into another "let's bash Texags and talk about how Looch sucks" board?
Why can't we just focus on what this board can be? Texags doesn't allow swearing. It doesn't have much interaction from other fan bases. It doesn't allow you to post pics in your avatar. If you don't have a 12th Man Tag or some stars most people don't really care about what you have to say. This site can be a lot of fun if we choose to make it so.
If you hate Texags and feel the need to express it aren't there enough other place to go vent? For that matter I don't care for bashing any Aggie site.

The reason Im vocal is because I want a clear line drawn. And I want the morons that pollute Texags to stay there and not come here thinking they can pull the same shite.

Fine. But I want the morons that bitch endlessly about Texags and about how much they hate Looch to find someplace else to do it. I'm all for agreeing to rules of moderation and "self moderation".
A good rule for instance is not to start threads talking about how other Aggie sites suck or how they are great if they are forum oriented (blogs, video sites, or other informational sites are different because they are less interactive). It just derails an otherwise good board and chases away quality conversation.
Would you agree with that?

I actually like Looch and the premium content. It's everything else about TexAgs that I hate. Outside of Varsity and M&W Report, TexAgs is one big "Aggy" joke and it gets worse each year.

I have a fundamental problem with paying for something I can just wait a few days and get for free.
They way that Liucci and his ilk try to sell it is even worse (looking down on people who don't subscribe, getting butthurt when their premium info turns out to be wrong, etc.). They can't handle legitimate competition or alternatives.

Looch gets hyper-defensive all the time, and it is annoying. The rest of the premium board is just giant jock sniffing posts, and ultimate sunshine pumpers. And this new TexAgs staff mantra of, "battered Aggie syndrome" thing I'm reading makes my eyes bleed. The problem is people take themselves too seriously. You can't criticize anything without it being some hypberbolic criticism, or a fatal flaw in yourself. It is obnoxious, but such is the internet I feel. In 10 years time all of us, that have been here since day 1 of the rant's inception of the Aggie board, will be treated like Gods to the young Aggies that venture to this place looking for football discussion. We need an official list of the founding members with a plaque or something.

I'm not defending TexAgs--it is what it is, a huge online collection of Aggies with the bad apples/attitudes/egos that come with any large collection of people. I just take the good with the bad and don't take it too seriously. And I don't pay for shite

I was on Texags in the beginning and was a part of the original defection from GoBig12 from whence it came and can tell you that the early prominent posters have mainly disappeared or certainly aren't amongst the most prominent there now. I remember when Liucci's M&W Report was a fax and had no affiliation with Texags. The site has changed and evolved many times both for good and bad. There was a time when A&M Football and the General Board had civil conversation and people weren't attacked or made fun of unless they REALLY asked for it. Now the site is really driven more by the content provided than the discussion, the best quality discussion is on the specialty boards now.

I think you guys really blow up the disputes with the mods over there, I have never seen anything over the top from them, 95% of the time they deserve it or were asking for it. But whatever, you have this board now so why keep complaining about it. and the zoo is the called that for a reason, sucks that you have to pay to get a good discussion but it has some really good threads and some posters who add a lot to the content. it is what it is.

Big Kat and Smoke Ring were posting pretty consistently when I first came on here. I lurked for a while here but wanted the smoke to clear a bit after the 2011 regular season.
I don't really have a problem with TexAgs. The content is great and that's what I use it for. The posters and subjects sometimes drive me nuts, but that's why I basically never post there. The fact is that most one team boards aren't good. That's why I wanted to post here even if it's mostly a lot of trolling. This board (the A&M one) can be different because it's attached to a larger conference board.

Been here since 2008. I've been occupying space in LSU domes since August 2008.
My siblings are UTenn people and I have a ton of extended family and friends that are LSU. I've been SEC for a loooooooooong time and praying we would make it in the conference.
