Ditch Spav as your Avi so I can take you seriously

And if Sumlin had Kelley we'd be in title contention

Here comes a comment about how if we had Kyle Allen we would be in title contention

They've been better than us two years in a row and will most likely make it three. Sumlin and Freeze arrived at the same time and Freeze was left a much shittier roster.

Nobody will, but that's unlikely

You have established you believe we should have different standards than teams perceived as better than us.

I don't think there's any question about it

BOTH sides of that arguement are complete speculation

I don't think we will go 10-2, but that's not the point

I don't think we should have the expectations of Alabama or OU if that's what you're saying. They are better programs than us. I do think we are well behind where we should be under Sumlin. Your manner of judging performance is completely out of whack though and you make sweeping judgments and generalizations based on single games.

Single games? The last time Sumlin's teams were even comparable to Clemson or OM was three years ago.

He's also under NCAA investigation. Doubt anything will happen though. Which sucks

They will have to vacate many wins and the sanctions will set them back to miss state without Dak levels

If we start 6-0 (4-0), then I am 100% on hype train to win the west.

I think we have to realistically acknowledge we won't beat Bama no matter how good we are.

6-0 though would get the recruiting machine going though.

I don't understand why you keep comparing us to Clemson or why that matters Saying things like "Ole Miss is a national title contender" or "Texas has a floor of 8-4 this year" is making a sweeping generalization off one game (less than one half in one case).

To me it's as simple as looking at the results at the end of this year and the trajectory and seeing where we are vs. where we expect to be. Unless we get very lucky in hiring a coach we aren't going to have an Alabama/USC/Miami type of run or dynasty. We are going to have 8-4 type years here and there, we're just having too many right now.

For me, anything short of 9-3 this year and we should absolutely move on. 9-3 is questionable and I will be disappointed with that. It will depend on what the options are. I expected us to be in the conversation for the west and a top 10ish team by year 5 FWIW

The issue is the trajectory, right now ALL evidence points towards Sumlin being propped up by one great year with a once in a lifetime player. Since then it's been all downhill.

I still maintain that losing four games with Johnny Manziel is the single biggest underachievement in the history of modern CFB. Even Gene Chizik won a natty with Cam.

So if we win 9 you'll admit we are on an upward trajectory ?

I don't really disagree with any of this. I am willing to let this year play out though and include that as well
