You're barking up the wrong tree. I really like the helmets used in the MSU Snow Bowl game. I'd like to see that helmet from now on (particularly in away games), with perhaps more maroon, less black for the normal uniforms. I have no objection to change and your "quit spending money on..." is laughable. Figure out why it is laughable for yourself. I'm not going there.

My objection is to crappy-looking changes. That pattern is ugly in my opinion, and about as "Not A&M" as I can imagine unless they add my suggested lightning bolts and "My Little Pony" stickers.

That screwed up young-commie-trying-to-destroy-A&M pattern may not be all that noticeable in real life like you alluded to, but then... what's the point? If we're going all frick-the-old-people's-opinions, why not go with Oregon chrome? Or Reveille in neon? Or feathers? Feathers would be fabulous. I still think "My Little Pony" stickers would make the statement you youngsters are trying to make much more effectively than that godawful Bengals stripes thing.
