Long time lurker and member... So greetings to the posters who’ve made this site much more enjoyable than the zoo.

I have no clue on how this coaching search will end ... but my lasting impression of this week will be the lack of tackling by our defensive players... particularly our DB’s. What ever happened to form tackling. Yes, we might get a targeting penalty on occasion as CFB has become pussified ... but how hard is it to teach someone to wrap up versus launching with only your shoulder. Can we find anyone to teach the kids to man up? That was the most frustrating issue for me... I get being beat (outrun or out talented) but how we play at times is hard to watch. Thoughts?

I don't know about finding anyone who can teach them how to man up, but Jimbo seems good at getting his players to have sticky fingers and run away fast, and that's close enough for football skills, by god.

I bet you are thinking of the shoulder down borderline whiff on the LSU player by the sideline... he went for another 25-30 yards after that. AAt least that is the one that really stood out for me.

Just been a bad tackling team overall for 4 years straight. One of many issues....

You’re right lol That play really pissed me off. But in reality they looked like crap all night ... I watched an ESPN story this morning about the passing of Sean Taylor 10 years ago. I remember watching him play at the U. He was awesome and had a fire to him. Just wish we had 1/10th of his desire.

I am right there with you, man. My ribs are sore from my wife jabbing me for cussing every time we'd miss a tackle due to poor form.

Whether it's football or basketball, I simply cannot abide bad defense. If you get beat, fine, but don't play shitty defense. Gets my blood pressure up
