i never understood the hype with RSJ. coming out of HS he was supposed to be too fast for LBers and too big for DBs, yet his film suggested neither. for some reason, A&M journalists are still toting that line and think scouts are in love with him.
I think his HS highlights before he hurt his knee and got soft mentally were absolutely dominant. Granted it's easy to look dominant at his size in highschool, but he was fluid, powerful, and violent. Once he hurt his knee it's like he regressed to a child like mentality on the field. He hasn't gone over the middle of the field without bracing for impact since.

Didn't he hurt his knee on a TD reception? Striding away from defense IIRC

He was injurered coming into A&M
Then was injured while here
Kid has taken the hard road to get to where he is, and he's done it without being a drama queen or transferring

RSJ seems soft
my two cents (i don't know anything):
He most certainly plays soft. It's a matter of consistency though. He can play like tarzan and jane on consecutive plays. He killed a guy from MSU 2 years ago on a block, but the play was in front of him and he wasn't worried about his knees. I think he plays with the fear of getting hit low every single play. In HS he was comfortable and felt invincible and it's amazing how fluid he looks in every circumstance, including running in traffic. Fast forward to his A&M highlights and he always looks disjointed and like he is playing cautious and measured. I bet his YAC in college station averaged like 2 ypp (his height).
