I think the opposite is the case. If Trump is the nominee, tons of R voters stay home. He's that disliked by the people who dislike him. People are talking about leaving the party if he's the nominee. You have guys like Sen. Sasse of Nebraska, not at all an establishment guy, saying they will not support or vote for Trump in the general election. As stated above, you even have Lindsay Graham talking about rallying around Ted Cruz to stop Trump

All a bunch of hot air. I don't believe this is what will happen at all. They'll all vote Trump when their collective blood pressures go down. Once they're all cried-out from their mutual temper tantrum they'll realize the alternative is Hillary and board the Trump Train. Besides, backing down and lacking spine is the Establishment Republican trademark, signature move. They bent over for Obama ceaselessly, they'll eventually do it for Trump.

And citing Lindsey Grahamnesty? Are you serious? He's one of the foulest human beings in America. Fake Republican, fake patriot who is selling us town the drain. Knowing he opposes Trump makes me want to vote Trump even more.

A Trump-led America is probably going to be like the UK in Children of Men. I got dibs on the first round of Quietus.

I hate neoconservatives, but I hate fascists more. I'll be rooting for Hillary (and voting for Gary Johnson).

I'm serious. I'm not voting Trump. Not even to avoid Hillary. The #NeverTrump phenomenon is real. Every day some new elected official PUBLICLY announces they won't support Trump. Recently it was the Gov. of Massachusetts.

I hate Grahamnesty, too. I'm citing him because he's the guy who joked about murdering Ted Cruz, about how he's poison, and even HE is willing to accept Cruz to avoid Trump.

You can dismiss all this if you want, but if Trump's the nominee, you'll see we all weren't kidding around.

I'll be writing in Cruz. Getting ready for 2020.

I dunno. Francisco Franco was a fascist, but he was the best leader Spain has had in modern times. He stared down the communist horde and successfully rebuilt the country from the ruin of the Civil War. They're not all bad. I'd take a Franco-like Trumpism over a Clinto-Kleptocracy.

That's a great look!

Francisco Franco put his own citizens in concentration camps and executed like 400,000 of them

I just don't know what I can do with people who are so historically illiterate they think a fascist dictatorship is preferable to a mildly corrupt democracy. (As though Trump would be any less corrupt.)

Pinochet was responsible for the Chilean economic miracle. They had the highest standard of living and best economy in South America. Another great example of a successful model for Trump!

Yeah Franco was very big on giving every one of those 400,000 a fair trial and there weren't at all any innocents or dissenters swept up in the mass executions

(This is a troll, right?)

Tough times call for tough measures. The guy was a bulwark against communism in an era when they were overrunning the globe.

Weird how the US managed to be a far more successful bulwark against communism without mass executions and suspension of civil liberties

Also weird how the last Clinto-kleptocracy resulted in an economic boom and balanced budgets as opposed to bankruptcy

No need. The US wasn't facing anywhere near the internal communist pressure that other countries were. We had allies like the bad men you want to cry about hold the line for us out in the rest of the world. Plus, we did kill 444,000 NVA&VC commies in Vietnam and 750,282 North Koreans and Chinese commies in Korea. So we broke a few eggs to keep communism at bey too.

You can thank Reagan and Bush I for setting the stage for that, along with a Republican congress during the Clinto-kleptocracy that kept them from ruining it.
