From my understanding Elko does most (if not all) of the defensive play calling. Even if that’s not true, DC hiring is the least of my concern for Elko. I’m slightly more “concerned” for his OC hire if anything

Lyle Hemphill getting promoted from within is probably writing on the wall for Wiggins, not sure I agree with the strategy but Elko has enough credits in the bank to see how it works out.

Was Wiggins possible in the running for that? Or maybe wanting his name to be?

I'm saying Wiggins will probably be promoted from within for the OC position as well. Maybe I'm wrong since it hasn't been announced yet, hopefully they are interviewing other candidates as they should imo.

I think once Elko gets his recruits in place, our defense is going to be an absolute monster regardless of the name-only DC we hire.
I’m very concerned about our offense, though. I know nothing about this Wiggins person.

Writing was on the wall, I was surprised he wasn't let go last year. He has the rep as a great recruiter but he never landed any highly rated guys (top 100) while here. Good luck to him.
