What does that even mean .. "too much to overcome"?

A loss to Southern means we won't be able to improve at all?

Means we won't be able to beat Arkansas?

A loss to Southern is just that ... a loss to Southern. Just like a loss to a good St Louis team is just a loss to a good St Louis team and a loss to a bad OU team is a loss to a bad OU team.

If the loss to Southern is weighing that much on your mind then just stop following Aggie basketball; I on the other hand will continue to go to games and cheer for the team.

The loss to Rice last year was the point in which I knew we would have a bad season. At that point, instead of thinking we would win 9-10 conference games, I knew we'd be lucky to win 4-5. That's EXACTLY how many we won.

The loss to Southern this year was the point in which I knew there were serious problems with the team. I think we split vs. Auburn, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Georgia, and lose all of the remaining games.

For a basketball conference as weak as the SEC is this year, that's PATHETIC.

Anyone looking at last year + the players we had returning + the number of new guys shouldn't have needed the Southern loss to know we were not going to be good.

That is the problem, you had unrealistic expectations of somehow being a tourney team.

What Kennedy has done is WORSE than what Melvin did.

He took a team EXPECTING to make the tournament and got them used to losing.

There was no reasonable expectation to make the tournament last year or this year. Turge made the tournament in year 1 only because he inherited a significantly better (and healthier)team than Kennedy did.

Sloan/BJ > Dash/Branch
D Kirk > Turner
Carter < Middleton (Barely)
JoJo/Chin/Jordan/B Davis > Ray/Courtney/Louebeau/K Davis
D-Ro/Walkup/Muhlbach > Hibbert/Green/Kinsley/Alexander

There is a natural adjustment time, then with the turnover and injuries last year the whole adjustment period was thrown off because there was virtually no continuity week to week let alone from the year before to last year.

And you can cry about "Turge would have gone to the Tourney last year" all you want but that wasn't an option. Turge left, get over it. What coach would you have preferred us hire last year that you think would have succeeded and would have had us on a better track?

Jacobsen (Northern Iowa)
Painter (Memphis)

Hell, any mildly successful coach from a MID-MAJOR instead of a 1-BID LEAGUE SCHOOL.

Jacobsen - maybe, but no telling if he would have done much with the injuries we had and may have still lost branch

Painter (?) - I think you mean Josh Pastner, Memphis HC, and you must be joking because there is no way that the Memphis HC leaves for Texas A&M ... Memphis is a better basketball job

Still doesn't make up for the loss to Southern or the whole getting outrebounded by 10 against Houston Baptist.

He's going to have to beat a major program on the road or beat Florida next week to wipe the shite stain off our program.

good god could you be more full of crap on this issue?

all that bitching and the proclamations about going 0-16 in conference and now you are immediately moving the goalposts.

weak dude.

really weak.

why don't you just admit Turge left this team in a lurch and its going to take time to get out of it? The dude was a basketball Fran.

Haha I wouldn't call him a basketball Fran but yeah he did not leave us the same or better than when he got here.

I'd admit that...but that doesn't excuse home losses to RICE and SOUTHERN. Good God...even Melvin didn't do that in consecutive years.

yea it doesn't have anything to do with the talent level or age of the team.

none at all.

You're really excusing home losses to RICE (which ended a 67 game nonconference home winning streak) and SOUTHERN?

I don't know how many times I have to say why I think the team has had issues and why we should expect bad losses in the short term.

You are simply choosing to ignore it.

Stop being such a thick head.
