He's a hell of a gamer. If he hadn't gotten hurt I think y'all would have pulled it out yesterday.

Tough game all around.

However, your season is not over. Here's to y'all getting up off the mat and whipping LSU's arse in two weeks.

I haven't heard anything yet but I doubt he plays next week at least.

I'm not sure his injury had much to do with it. He's a leader but he was playing poorly as was the rest of the team. Hubenak did okay all things considered.

Honestly, I think Hubenak is the better QB at this point. He made some passes yesterday Knoght could never make.

Any chance Starkel gets a look if Hubes gets knocked out?

If Starkel plays, that means you know Sumlin's job is on the line.

guys, I know y'all are upset. And I can appreciate that. But please let's keep topics on topic for more than 2 posts.

There are plenty of places to express your frustration without derailing every conversation.

Do you really think so? Seemed to me like the oline wasn't playing well and we could not establish the run game with consistency. Knight was playing about like he normally does - inconsistent as hell until he decides we need to score and then he marches us down to the endzone.

Hubes played well, but this is miss state defense we are talking about here. Hubes will get shredded by a better defense IMO

Mississippi State held our offense to fewer points than they held every opponent except South Carolina and the same as South Alabama. We are just complete shite right now and it will only get worse.

It's always fun to see what perspective you will have the day after a loss, after you've had time to sleep on it.

Knight is a streaky passer. He started off terribly throwing the ball. His MO is to eventually hit a hot streak. It is a matter of whether we can keep the game close when he is on a cold streak.

This is a transition year for the OL and we have very little margin for error on injuries. We are paying the price for keeping Sumlin's original OL coach too long. I have been pretty pleased with the OL performance most of the year.

Hopefully Sutherland will develop with the playing time he is going to get. Looked like Lanfear's knee is going to keep him out for awhile.

Sutherland started almost all of 2015 and lost his job to a true freshman. Don't get your hopes up.

Hopefully Sutherland lost his job at the beginning of the season due to technique issues and has worked hard to improve.

I guess we will see if he holds up or gets trucked by DL over the next few weeks. No place to hide on OL performance.

I thought it was interesting that we did not slide Elumenour over to guard and put Martin in at tackle. We went straight to Sutherland instead.

Hubes is a much better passer, but w/o wheels he can't overcome the inconsistency of RSJ and Speedy. I'd like to see Kirk, Reynolds, Tabuyo, and Niederhofer on the field if Hubes is in the game.

Sutherland was hurt and missed all of the off-season. He was limited in fall camp. He didn't look very good yesterday though.

My guess is Koda plays RT and London RG this week. I think Koda had an injury of some sort (though he was there in case of emergency). Another option, and one I'm sure they will explore is either Anderson or McCoy at RG (with the other at center). I don't think he's ready but I know they are high on Anderson.

yeah honestly before he got hurt I was thinking it was Knight's worst game of the year. He had a nice drive right before the injury so maybe he was going to pull it together. But his first 5 passes weren't even close.

It's hard to say. He and Knight are so different as QBs that it's hard to adjust midgame. Having a week to gameplan for his strengths, I think we'll see a bit different offense.

I think he gets underrated because he doesn't have great arm strength. But he's smart and accurate and throws a very catchable ball. And the other players really like him. It honestly won't surprise me if he does quite well this week.

Hubes is accurate and throws with such finesse. But that's part of what worries me - there's never a sense of urgency with him. Not sure we have time for that luxury style of play these days.

But yes, I agree, Knight's first possessions and passes were absolute shite. He hit the ground on a 5 yard toss to Kirk and that's exactly when I posted the thread "what the frick are we doing" on this board. But honestly I just saw it as typical trevor bullshite. He put a hell of a drive together on the scoring drive he was injured.

So do we need to "gulp" run a 2 qb offense? Bringing in hubes for obvious passing downs?
