Holy crap at the changes around there in just the last 8 years
This is the length of time that's elapsed since I graduated.
Holy shite at the changes in that span, indeed. It's nuts.

Driving through University Dr is like driving through midtown Houston now with all those high-rises.
New Army gets all the cool shite while all I got was Franchione and Sherman!
(Ok, I'm exaggerating a bit, but not that far off.)

Yes and contrary to popular belief that is what Johnny wanted. His widow couldn't devote the time to it that it deserved and followed his wishes.

Yeah my ex/sort of ex/maybe not ex is one of Johnny's step daughters and I got to watch while people crucified her mom when it was closed, sorry kind of a sensitive subject

Isn't that land a Wally World now? I haven't been to that part of town since 2011.
Also, there's supposedly a new Whataburger next to the Layne's on Wellborn Rd. Can anyone confirm?

Oh man that sucks.
For the record, I never ran down the owners for it closing. Their property, their prerogative. It was just a sentimental spot for me since both me and my dad took our respective future wives there for dates.
