LSU fans STILL upset over Speedy Noil.
Posted on 4/3/16 at 6:57 pm to texag7
Why? It's not even like he's any good.

They are just so fearful of A&M success. They can feel their opportunity slipping away. They've wasted so much talent by having Les Miles as coach. Losing Chavis really got to them too.

Actually Speedy was brought up because he was part of the 5for5. So when the Tony Brown news broke its just kind of funny because we played ourselves about 5for5 and after today without a doubt LSU got the last laugh. For the past two years prior to Chavis leaving there was a growing issue with him from the fanbase. When he left it just gave a lot of people uncertainty. That particular situation has seem to work out better for us as well. Even if Aranda turns out to be not as good as advertised LSU still came out pretty damn good.

Well how did we not? Pulled in an elite class. Tacked on two more good recruiters. One of Auburn's favorite coaches.

Im pretty confident I took the least ignorant route. I could have just said mean things about Texas a&m but that would be inappropriate.

quote:LF? Sure. Malachi? Its pretty much a wash. Speedy was better as a freshman and malachi was better last year
The two players that signed with LSU have been the most productive for their respective programs.
quote:uhhh you mean I can't look at how LSU fans posted about Chavis? Interesting. Funny how all of the "growing issues" didn't become a thing until he actually left.
Like you would know regardless but thats 100% correct.

quote:because who knows how well he will do at LSU. Kind of pointless to say he is already better for LSU than Chavis was when we don't know how he will do at LSU. Especially when our defense took a major step up in year one under Chavis
Well how did we not? Pulled in an elite class.

Malachi has Speedy beat in every category except # of receptions and that's largely because of the difference in the offensive schemes.
IMO, Speedy would have transferred out of LSU just like Quinn because of the offense. He wouldn't start over Dupre or Dural in our scheme and thus wouldn't get the looks he gets/should get in your offense.
I don't know if it was just injuries holding him back last year or what but I'm hoping for Speedy to turn it around for y'all this year. I loved watching his high school tape, reminded so much of Percy Harvin.
Back on topic, hindsight being 20/20, I'm fine with how "5 for 5" turned out.

Likely true but I don't think being the primary kick returner would keep him here.

Obviously not, but I don't think the last 2 seasons would have gone any differently with him here.

LSU fans are really missing the ball on this one. Should be talking about how the players you did get have been successful and the ones who decided to go elsewhere got themselves in trouble. You didn't dodge a bullet, they missed their opportunity.
At least that's how I'd be spinning it if it were us

You apparently arent as informed as you think you are.

Well Im not trying to hurt anyones feelings but the "corndogs" yall go back and forth with on tSECr consider yalls football program inferior. Not saying I do. You probably already knew that though.
quote:So we're spinning it in our favor even though it worked out in our favor? And I'm dissecting the whole situation like you apparently are.

Holy context issues batman. I see how you're confused because that's not what I said. Thats going to take a couple of years to determine that being Chavis was here so long and fielded some nasty defenses. I was basically saying how we came out way on top after everyone counted us out after Chavis left and gave us shite for 5for5. I'm not really wrong in saying that.
If they could go back I would hope Chavis would leave all over again.

I don't believe for a second that Willis or Brown would have behaved any differently anywhere else, least of all LSU. It isn't like we're known for having "choirboys" on our team.
