For sending Montgomery, then stopping him, then sending him again, resulting not only in an out that should have been a run, but a season-ending injury.

So Cain is to blame for a freak accident? That's dumb af. Should he have sent him? No. But he wouldn't be the first third base coach to ever make a mistake like that, heat of the moment, thought Montgomery could make it. Oh well that's baseball. But to blame him for Mont getting hurt? That's just downright dumb

That being said we're up a game and Sdao is on the mound. The team battling back from being down AND losing Mont just shows their resilience, this team fights and has all season.

Dude…

Blaming a base coach.., even one that is incompetent… for an injury like that is beyond absurd.

Elite athletes ought to be able to stop and go, run, slide, etc.., base coach had frick all to do with it. Unlucky injury and that is all.

If one injury sinks this team then they had no chance in Omaha anyway. Bench is pretty deep. The Montgomery that was injured yesterday is not the same offensive juggernaut he was for the first 2/3 of the year. Just a fact.

A lot of baseball fans have been hollering for Kent to play more. Now they get their wish. I hurt for Monty, but he will still be in the dugout.

On our side of the bracket:

#2 Kentucky is up 1-0 on #15 Oregon St
#6 Clemson is down 1-0 to Florida
#7 Georgia is down 1-0 to #10 NC St

On the other side, #4 UNC, #8 FSU and #12 Virginia are all thru. #1 Tennessee trying to avoid the upset of the tournament against Evansville.

What would be better for us? Florida winning or Clemson?

Clemson had a much better overall year, so the bracket will be friendlier without them

As far as a Game 1 matchup goes and getting into the winner's bracket, Clemson has a freshman starter that is dominating recently, but he didn't start Game 1 of the supers. Probably still easier to face whoever Florida runs out there. I think both team's bullpens are relatively weak

I'm not sure what stretch I was paying attention but mid conf season when I was wanting breathing room to host the supers Clemson had a lot of really close games but just kept winning. Florida has some really streaky pitchers so be careful what u ask for. If had influence I'd use it for Evansville and Oregon St actually.

Florida is probably a top 5-10 team in the country talent wise and are finally starting to play like it. Neither will be easy if we advance

The only magic we will get is seeing our chances of going to Omaha disappear.

There is so much variance 8n baseball that it may not matter, but it's a massive loss even if he isn't playing out of this world baseball.

I don't think anyone on the team had a better regional, and the lineup gets a decent bit softer when you move guys around it make up for his absence.

I think Chestnut is also going to be a liability in center. Guys are going to be running on him with little concern.
