I dunno if I've ever seen that before. Would love to see it again.

Mark Johnson always polite: "They kinda blew them out."

15-1 final. 5 (count'em) HRs.

Are we getting more runs because of the line-up changes?

They said they switched Banks & Birk because Banks hits better with the bases empty and Birk hits better with runners on.

Janca > Homan so that helps, but ultimately it comes down to UF >>>> UGA. We faced some of the best pitchers in baseball last weekend.

The UF series really made us look worse than we are. Then again, MSU beat up on UF today at UF.

A&M's 3 pop ups probably went a combined 1100+ feet.

No score. 3 more pop ups after a leadoff double. We're swinging for the fences after hitting 5 yesterday.

I really, really like that the 3 runs in the 4th all came after 2nd out.

Melton's BA just took a hit on a sharp line drive to 3B. Get the bum outta there.

6-1/3 innings with only 67 pitches. Impressive.

Simonds gives up a solo shot, but he's still only thrown 87 pitches thru 8. I say bring him back for the 9th and give him around ~13 pitches. Any more than you let someone else close it out. A nice combo of stretching your start out yet not over using him in a situation that doesn't call for it. I wouldn't be shocked that is it for Simonds though.

not too surprising but Hunter Melton was named SEC player of the week

Last year Melton batted .300/.381/.473 and 8 HRs. This year he's at .371/.443/.669 with 8 HRs already

Really amazing to me how our hitters develop. Guys like Melton, Moss, Barash have all gone from fairly average to great hitters.

Obviously not everything is linear so some guys get stuck (Banks) in a rut. But even peripheral players like Choruby have really become good hitters. So while I get annoyed with his in-game stuff and lineups at times, it's really hard to argue with Bolt's long term results.

really weird.

After a weekend where Ivey, Larkins, Hendrix, and Schlottman didn't throw at all and Ecker pitched to 1 batter (also Vinson hasn't thrown since Friday), I assumed we'd give each an inning or two just to get them work.

Ivey not starting is a huge red flag to me after his last two starts. He's way too talented to get shelved for Kolek. Hopefully we are just prepping him for relief work and will bring him in from the pen today. Otherwise I'm going to start to worry.
