You are going to offer a friggin broke high school kid living in a claptrap house or apartment with his momma thousands more dollars a semester for one school over another and it won't matter. Pshhhhh! Dream on, dream on, dream until your dream come truuuuuuuuuuuue!
It's like $800 a year, which is probably peanuts compared to what kids are getting offered under the table if they want to take it. Plus most big time high school recruits think they're going to play in the NFL

LSU is kicking everyone's arse on the trail and they have the third or fourth lowest in the SEC IIRC and a few hundred dollars more than us.
Terrible example. LSU recruits in a state/culture where if you don't sign with LSU your family breadwinners face losing their jobs, being ostracized from their communities, or even physical violence. They could pay negative $5 a year and top Louisiana kids will still go there so that their mom and dad's lives won't be ruined.

You are giving these kids way too much credit. HS kids don't have that kind of foresight or planning ability. They throw their futures down the drain ALL THE TIME over stupid silly stuff that doesn't really matter in the long run (girls, being cool, parting, selling and doing drugs, skipping class, you name it) much less $1,000, which is a lot for someone not thinking about tomorrow.

Like 1/4th of their class is from Texas and Florida and could have gone anywhere they wanted

I'm dissing their life experience and general intelligence and saying they're impulsive enough to sell themselves for $1k. I don't know how you can possibly conceive of that as "giving them credit". But you are just trying to win an argument so...

So what you're saying is the type of player that would pick one school over another school based on $800 is that kind of person that would do something to get himself kicked off the team? Sounds like the problem works itself out.

And 3/4 of it isn't and comes from the state with the most talent per capita in America. The maybe 1/4 they get from TX is almost all from Houston to Beaumont where these kids have Louisiana ties and family.

They care about winning games, playing in big games in big stadiums on TV and getting a shot to play in the NFL. The extra 800-1200 dollars or whatever is not suddenly going to become a major factor with those things. If we had gone 10-3 this year our lower stipend vs. Texas would not mean jack shite. But our fan base loves to find meaningless shite like this to act like the cards are stacked against us when in reality we have virtually every advantage a major program could have and still haven't been able to take advantage of it.

Will it be the major factor for a kid picking a school? No.
But can it be enough to swing a kid that is somewhere closer to 50/50?
Hell yea.
I'm not sure why any of you seem to think recruits would believe the situation is College Station should be considered any more stable than what it is in Austin when we had people happily talking about how Sumlin was about to get fired with cause over some seriously scandalous stuff.
Do you really think that kind of shite doesn't get back to recruits?

You really ought to step off Secrant for awhile. It's not even like that. Physical violence? Never has anything like that ever happened. Landon Collins is the only case where the recruit was scrutinized and the family wanted him to go to LSU and didn't fully support his decision. Daylon Charlot, Cam Robinson, and Hootie Jones all went to Bama with zero resistance or hardship from the state. shite, Tim Williams went to school practically on LSU's campus and it was totally fine. It's really about how the recruit handles the process that ticks people off. Nationally people find things to be ticked off about with recruits, read the Rivals main board.

Wow. Not even remotely true.

Jonathan Stewart, linebacker for A&M from 2009-2012 from Shreveport, completely disagrees with your statement. It was his account that generated the portion you quoted.

Define no one else
You mean not flip or land any guys that we all know already that aren't coming?
Because with those 2 and our solid commits aren't we a 12-13 ranked class?
