Recruiting is the long term outlook. What data do we have to assume Sumlin can succeed without top level recruits?

how can any coach succeed at the highest level without the talent, and sustain the winning?

I get your frustration and our expectations are legitimate. But I still think Sumlin+ Chief is the core than can get us to the promised land.

if we dont, then we start the circus again. I've followed all of this since we hired Francione way back when I was a student. I'm tired of rebuilding and would like come continuity, even during the more testing times.

It's possible. It takes elite development. You have to recruit or develop at an elite level. To win it all you have to do both.

Sumlin does neither at an elite level.

agreed. Defense is getting there or might be there allready by an elite developer. on Offense we have the elite talent (mostly) but lack development. Mazzone is not elite but is solid in recruiting and development.

bottom line, we need a good season and the positive buzz that comes with it.

I don't think Sumlin is awful, or inept. I just think with the commitment many generous former students made, we should have our sites set higher.

This class will probably finish around 15th in the country, but fourth in our division.

LSU has lost their last 2 defensive coordinators and their recruiting/running back coordinator. Mike Divinity was pretty upset too, but he had already enrolled.

You really don't know what you're talking about do you?

You know who probably told him to do that too. That's such a shitty and desperate thing to do.

Core Values. Yeah, right.

Well, we damn sure don't want him in on a visit next week trying to poison the well. I'd cancel his invitation pronto.

Just roll with Fuller and Oliver at CB, and bring in R. Williams from Shreveport for a visit.

I know it's a little weird to notice, but, Mark Jackson has added Texas A&M commit back to his Twitter profile after removing it last week.

Madibuike says in his interview with TexAgs tonight that Jackson had a good visit this weekend and that he thinks he stays an Aggie but that Jackson was serious about considering other teams.

ESPN recruiting just tweeted that Sumlin has an in home set up with Mcculoch for Thursday night... Is that something that was already set up or is it something he worked out with him this weekend?
