Only thing I can figure is he is selling Teddy's success (and I can't blame him) and Johnny 's lack of success.

What makes the most sense out of all of it is something I just read in the comments to Looch's update last night.

Kevin Murray has taken a long look at last seasons tape and realized that Kyle Allen was the #1 high school qb in the nation for a reason. He now believes he's THAT good and his son has a very slim chance of starting in the next 2-3 years unless Kyle gets hurt.

That is the only hing that makes sense. But to go to tu where offenses go to die and bad coaches nearly kill good kids makes no sense whatsoever

Yeah I know but other than doing the bagman boogie I can't see what he's selling. I mean the core values thing is all bullshite and everybody but the delusional sips knows it

Eta yeah I just saw your post about KA and that's a definite possibility

Do you think Murray can beat out Kyle Allen? I don't think he can. Kyle has a great arm, enough running ability, the size to see over the LOS, and he appears to understand how to read the defenses. Personally I like Allen, I like his decision making, and I think this guy is really the future for us at QB.

I am not so sure this isn't the reason Murray is looking somewhere else. He already considered OU and apparently now texass. He wants to play when he gets to college and I think he knows it is going to be extremely difficult to beat out Allen.

All this talk about Murray and how he compares to JFF... I get that. Fact is JFF was taller with a heavier frame. For major college football 2" makes a difference when you are at the shorter end of the QB scale. 5'10" vs 6' matters much more than 6'2" vs 6'4".

Would I like to see Murray at A&M? Of course. I'm not sure the guy will play at A&M over the next 2-3 years unless Kyle Allen gets injured and I think he is worried about it. I can totally understand why he would consider texass given their QB situation this past year.

It may just be this:

Charlie says,
We are close to home for you just like A&M
You can play baseball here as well just like A&M
Our offense is bad and it needs a lot but at least here you can start and play college ball right away until you move on to a mlb career; that won't happen at A&M

Dang maybe this does make the most sense for Kyler

He's a baller, maybe after all this time being THE STUD on a team the thought of being on the bench is getting to him

Frick, it makes sense and it sucks for us

If that is the case I hope they tell all the guys KM recruited for us so they don't defect

Plus he can sell the fact that the B12 defensive backs are small and not the huge hard hitting monsters in the SEC

I mean he's gonna have to. The only offense they are gonna be able to generate is whatever Kyler can produce while running for his life. I mean they have no oline or any other pieces on O for that matter.

Im gonna just go in with Looch, it's going to be a complete toss up and a lot will ride on what Sumlin says Thursday

But Sumlin can't promise him a starting position and that may be all that matters to Kyler and Kevin right now.

Kyle Allen is the STARTER at texas A&M right now. The job isn't up for grabs, he will have to underperform significantly in some big games to lose it or get injured

Or get beat out by someone with more and better skills. It's looking like the competition might be more than some can stomach

Starting qb will not be up for grabs in the spring. Kyle will be the named starter going in. He was the starter last year and has done nothing to lose the job.

Yeah I get that but if you are confident in your abilities you shouldn't need to be promised a starting job with no competition. You should go out and win the fricking job. It goes back to your earlier post, they watched film and don't think he can beat out KA so he's scared

Are you slow? Of course it will be up for grabs.

Sumlin is going to play the best player at each position, he's not fricking Sherman.

frick off, you're an idiot if you think the qb spot is up for grabs before the Arizona state game.

Kyle IS THE STARTER for the Texas A&M football team. This is t like last year where neither Kenny or Kyle had real playing time.

The meaning of "up for grabs" is up for grabs.

I would imagine there would be competition, but to think Kyle Allen doesn't have the upper hand would be foolish. Slightly better practice reps wouldn't(imo)catapult a true fish over an experienced starter.
