Merritt is being recruited as a RB
He's not really the Anderson replacement. We wanted both. They are really pretty complementary. Anderson is a bigger guy that can block with the best of them. But he's a glider. Merritt is pure explosion. Put em both on the field and you can have two backs or 5 receivers.
Obviously both are good receivers and could line up in the slot but we want all our backs to be able to do that so we can go fast and go 4 WR/1RB or 5 WR without subbing which allows the defense to sub. Ideally we'd be multiple in the same personnel groupings each drive.
