that's ridiculous. After Katrina things got pretty wild in Houston trying to get kids to to move to certain school districts but nothing like that. I think the facilities at the public schools in TX and the fact that the best schools will always invest tons of money in football probably keeps them on top

Petrino honestly seems like a terrible recruiter

that and the 50,000 seat stadiums and jet planes and shite. I wish I played football for one of those programs

I was hoping Dion Ray would be that guy but he just committed to a school 2 weeks ago. Prob could just hold out until '16 perhaps....

we probably wont offer one until later in the process right?

I bet we do over the summer. We'll probably have them come to campus and throw some. There are a lot of excellent QBs in Texas each year that go under the radar - guys that have the skillset and the mind for it but just aren't highlighted in HS. Hell Ryan Tannehill falls in that group.

I think a guy like Agnew would be further along by playing at Southlake but honestly we're not looking for a guy to come in and play early. I personally like the idea of finding one of those prospects. I'm also not sure how critical Spav sees our QB situation. He really likes McQueen

do you think we can get back into it with stidham?

unfortunately, my guess is that ship has sailed. Btw, Stidham is another really good example of what I'm talking about. He played WR til last year.

We're taking 2 - I was confused about this earlier (due to board only having Murray) but got clarification recently that yes indeed we are

Can the private schools in Texas recruit? They can and give scholarships in Kentucky. That's why the catholic high schools in Louisville Trinity and St. X dominate the state. I don't understand why since the public schools can't and get put on probation if caught.

They aren't supposed to but I don't think the private school associations enforce it too much. You see it more with basketball than football in TX.

I hope we do. Maybe we can get in on the Dormandy kid since he looked pretty good at that QB camp a couple weeks ago.

you don't see it with basketball programs as much in California. it happens. but not nearly to the extent of what goes on in football

I'd guess DE Lockhart, LB Garner, LB Moore and CB Boyd will all commit

What do you think of Garner? A lot of posters on 247 don't like his film. Can he play in the SEC?

I want to clarify that I'm by no means a talent scout. I talk out of my arse a lot. It's also really hard imo to evaluate because you are looking at only a select few plays and you really don't know what a guy's assignment is all the time.

My take: He's quick. He's good in pursuit. He's got good length. Overall he's got nice athleticism. However, he looks thin, plays smaller than he is, and his technique doesn't look very good.

But all those negatives are fixable. If he's really 210 now, I think he could easily play at 230+. He can be coached up to make more use of his length and quickness.

If he has the mental ability and the right frame to grow, he's the kind of athlete that could be a 6'3" 235 pound SAM. He likely needs a redshirt but you can definitely see a diamond in there. I have no idea if he or we can mine it though. It appears that Hagen, Snyder, and Sumlin all think we can.

I don't know anything. But I'm just doing 2+2. Lockhart has known he was getting an offer when he responded. They are all friends. It's likely nothing more than the last day of school....or it could be when they are going to visit.

Just offered Donte Jackson. Athlete out of New Orleans.

appears ULSU just offered

Here is Jimmy Smith's take on him
quote:

Jackson's continued rise is due to a few factors. First and foremost; he found a position. As a cornerback on the 7-on-7 circuit, Jackson has been extremely impressive showing he has all the tools needed to build a great cornerback. Then there is his undeniable potential as a return man. And possibly most importantly, he has shown the toughness and desire needed to be great. He is the hottest player in America and for good reason. His rise may not be done just yet, either.

Film is great, obviously a heck of an athlete. How big is he?

I'm pretty sure I saw that he is 5'11" and 175. Not a very big guy which is probably part of the reason he is just now getting a lot of attention. I believe that is why tmc said he reminds him of Dante Hall.
