Don't read into a first game beatdown too much. Look at us and MSU Both came back and won. However I do expect Vandy to win. They've been playing lights out for a weeks and are so damn talented.

As soon as it went extra innings, I turned it off. Wasn't going to go through another marathon game without sleep before a full workday.

Glad it turned out alright.

What does everyone expect from our pitching staff today?

Stub is getting the start. When 100%, he is easily one of our best pitchers, if not the best. In his first start vs Cal, he went 5 IP, 1 ER. If we can get that out of him again, I think we consider it a success. From there who do you go with . Simonds & Ecker to finish it? Will Vinson be able to throw an inning or 2 if needed? It would be nice to have a lefty our of the pen we can trust with TCU's heavily lefty line up.

I feel like Stubbs could go 6-7 innings, maybe 80 pitches; I doubt he has the endurance to go longer than that. If Ecker is on, he could probably take us the rest of the way. If we have to go Johnny Fullstaff, I doubt we win anyway since their pitching is so deep and probably means they're teeing off on us. I think we win though.

If TS is pitching well and RC tries to tell him he's coming out.....

I won't be at all shocked if Stubbs goes the distance. He's a bulldog and it's not his arm that was hurt

Is it confirmed that A&M is home for tonight?

NCAA.com suggests we won the toss.

Are you saying we will ride Stubbs to victory?

Tyler has his future to look at. This may be his last college game with the draft tonight. His PC was only supposed to be around 50 last game.

I'm with you, but it's just not his makeup. I also don't think it will be his last college game unless he dominates. He's going to get drafted too low to go right now. He needs to show more and this year he hasn't had that opportunity. If he comes out after 50 pitches, would you reach to take him? Tonight's that night.

He's healthy and said after last week he felt good. It's been like spring training for him and he's now had a start and full rest after it. If his stuff is there, I think he'll go deep.

I hope your right. I think I read he was going to play with the Bombers this summer so maybe his plans are to come back. I don't even know where he is projected and I'm not so sure 1 good game tonight is going to make a world or difference. He's a good sized lefty with brings it and has a nice #2 pitch. Usually those type of goes go in the first handful of rounds. They cannot overpay like the used to, but that doesn't mean he's not ready for some $$ and his next chapter.

Not basing it on knowing anything, just my opinion, and the draft is tricky and I'm certain I could be wrong. But I haven't seen him in the top 200 on anything.

Stubblefield was taken in the 36th out of HS and doesn't have a long resume post-HS to work with. My take on him to date is he projects to be a middle of the rotation type of guy. Teams don't like to gamble on thin resumes when the top end isn't there just because there is so much risk already.

He has the advantage of having 2 more years so he can come back without losing leverage. I think a full year of Fri starts and he's looking at 2nd-3rd round (or higher if he can find a 3rd plus pitch or take the slider to plus plus). And he also benefits that another year in the SEC isn't likely to slow his progression to the show. He'll just start higher up the chain so I really think it comes down to money.

The best he can hope for this year is someone decides to reach for him. It only takes one team. A monster showcase game tonight on ESPN may spark that and maybe he goes real early tomorrow

Kent came out and said he's entered in a master's program at A&M if he doesn't like his draft position. If we roll with 3 of Kent, Stub, Hendrix, Simondsm Larkins next year that may be a filthy weekend rotation. And that isn't considering any freshman or transfer coming in and setting the world on fire.

Thanks for clearing that up, cause Sarge seems to struggle with time zone issues.
