I'm embarrassed to ask, but...How does that work if the run scores before the out? What's the difference between the Ag's run against Cal?

If it's the last out of the inning the run doesn't count.

We scored on the last out against Cal

Because it's a force play at first, and it's the 3rd out.

It's actually a good question. The force situation applies at 2nd & 3rd too.

quote:
On Sunday's game, the Aggies' eventual game winning run was nearly wiped out when the Bears nearly got the tag 3rd out by 3rd base before the run has scored. The screen grab below is from the SBNation recap of Sunday's action.
So because it was not a "force out" or strike out, a run could score before the tag was made for the third out?

Correct. The "force" situation is the key on the 3rd out.
