When we make a move I would like to see some of our current staff retained as I think It would help tremendously with both recruiting and player retention. For one I think Gillespie absolutely should be retained as RB coach; he's a tremendous coach and is one of the few bright spots on this offensive staff. Other guys I'd be interested in are Warren as the DBs coach and Hoke as either the DL coach or maybe a Defensive "quality control" type role.

Gillespie and Hoke would be my top 2 without a doubt, beyond that I'd have little interest in anyone else. If we did this and the new HC brought in the rest I think we could maintain a top 5 recruiting class and come out swinging right away. Thoughts?

I would throw in Rock. Undecided on Wells and Warren.

I'll tell you who I don't want back...Kevin Beard. Wide receivers running the wrong routes cost us the Florida game, and has made Dormady's job much harder.

This year, UT receivers consistently don't block downfield, run bad routes and drop easy catches.

The receivers are coached by a GA. Beard is a recruiter only.

Gillespie, Wells, Scott (though not sure as a coordinator), Hoke, Warren are all good coaches imo.

Shoop is a very good football coach as well but not sure it's going to work out here.

Wow, when you said that earlier I was assuming you where referring to Beard as the GA as an insult. Didn't realize you were being literal. What a terrible hire.

Also another example of Butch not learning. Have an unproven GA coaching the QBs these last two years hurt the QBs development so why not do it again with the receivers?

LOL this has to be a joke right????? No way this is true, if so then my sympathies for Butch have gone out the window. Good God.

This is the worst they've been but the WRs have been inconsistent and undisciplined for Jones's entire tenure

I'd keep Lyle as a special teams coach and recruiter

VF30, have you had any insight as to how the early signing period will affect hiring/firing of coaches? I feel like the timetable will get bumped up since you can now sign in Dec so waiting till late Nov to make a move would be too late.
