No more nickel this game so we will see what our base 4-3 looks like. Could be a big disappointment

Considering Arkansas is a passing team now, this could get ugly, fast.

Why are they doing away with the nickel? I thought Justin Martin was actually doing a pretty good job at the nickle, one of the few things I couldn't bitch about

Our defensive staff is expecting them to run pretty heavy so supposedly we will be in base most of the time. Especially with the rain, this will probably be the case by default.

Who will our linebackers even be in a 4-3? JRM, Kirkland and Smith? Or is Butch still allowing Jumper into Neyland Stadium without buying a ticket?

I feel like this monsoon that's supposed to hit East TN Saturday will play in our favor a bit.

I'm not sure, but those sound right. Anyone know what happened to Bates?

I think Jumper's Butkus campaign starts Saturday. He's been a sandbagging son of a bitch so far.

I think Kendrick has been sandbagging, too. Saturday starts his Outland Trophy campaign.

It's so bad now that just the sight of Jumper triggers me so bad I get thrown into a rage that makes Hitler's anger in those videos seem like he's slightly annoyed

A poster on another board I frequent was sitting right behind Jumper's parents during the Oklahoma game. Like directly behind them one row up. He said it took a level of restraint he didn't think he was capable of to keep from telling them his thoughts about their son

He has missed a block or two haha. I'd still rather have him than C. Thomas there.

Every time I watch him pre-snap, he looks like he's going crazy. I thought he was supposed to be awesome at lining the defense up.

Whats up with Dillon Bates? Is he just not good enough to crack the depth chart yet? When Maggitt got hurt I thought we would see him some.

Pretty much every time that Florida got to Dobbs, the DE/LB would hesitate and Kendrick would double down on the tackle. Then the rusher would blow by Kendrick's outside and he would turn and lunge at him as he breezed by.

He does look better than Thomas did at Tackle last year..but that's like being the skinniest girl at fat camp.

The only problem with that is that we've become a dink and dunk team, and our passing game against both Tech and A&M consisted of quick outs, receiver screens and dump offs to the TE in the flats. Despite Allen's passing numbers, we're not really passing downfield.

That's not entirely true. We're averaging 9.8 YPA which is good for 3rd in the SEC behind only Georgia and Ole Miss. Allen averaged 9+ YPA against both A&M and Tech which would again be 3rd in the SEC.

In comparison, he averaged 6.7 and 6.0 YPA the past two seasons. He went 7.8, 7.4 and 5.1 against A&M twice and Tech during that time.

We're not throwing the 40+ yard bombs that fans clamor for but we are hitting the 10-20 yards passes regularly.

Bates has been hurt and that has gotten him behind some others. He's on special teams now but will probably get more playing time on defense later this year. He's more of a cover LB not a hard hitter like JRM or Kirkland

This. I know they want Dobbs in the pocket more this year but the fact is we need him freelancing the first part of every game to back off defenders. I don't know if we can do that though because without Dobbs at QB the line would look even worse. We can't lose him but we also can't keep him in the pocket as much as we'd like. Our tackles just aren't good enough.
