At this point we have no choice but to give him a chance. I will wait to see what kind of staff he puts together to make any real judgements.

He's already reached out to Tee, that's a good first move

Reaching out to Tee was huge retaining Graham will be huge, It's ALL about the staff. DC will be crucial, I think the guy he has now was co-DC at UGA.

I would like to hear him publicly invite former players back, Dooley had a ridiculous policy in place.

Open practices

Recruiting will be huge and from what I understand Asantaii Woulard is now interested in Tennessee, that would be an excellent pick up. If Tee comes home, I think Ramsey comes with him.

WIN, WIN, WIN!

Accept responsibility for losses, don't take the dipshit Dooley approach.

The more I read and research, I think we got LUCKY. The guy wanted to be here since the job came open. He brings a great sideline demeanor that our players will love, let's hope he can turn that enthusiasm into development.

Tee coming home I also think he is going to retain Graham.

Asantaii Woulard has us as his leader, if Tee comes I think Ramsey follows.

I hope this guy gets an amazing defensive staff.

I'm 95% in, he gets a great staff I will purchase season tickets.

I was impressed too. recruiting is still my main concern with the hire, but Tennessee should be able to recruit itself. Like that he mentioned an open door policy for former players.

He also said that we have a decent roster and Dooley did not leave us empty of talent at least. If we can get a good staff especially defensively we should be able to win in year one and if we dont I will start worrying and wanting a new coach after one year

Haven't gotten to listen to the press conference yet, but he is just an unknown for the most part right now, all coached had to start somewhere. I just wish the Vol fans would back off the guy and give him support because he is the coach now.

I don't really have much confidence in the future of the program anymore. This search was such a giant train wreck that unless the people responsible our held accountable, I'm not really sure why I should believe Tennessee is going to be 'back' any time soon. I find it more likely that the money stops coming in and expectations are simply lowered.

It seems there are internal conflicts at the top, all I can do is hope our new coach can overcome such circumstances and win against all odds.

GO VOLS!!!

The search wasn't Jones's fault so there's no reason not to support him. I agree that sHart and the booger eater need to go

The more I research Jones the more I like him. He is a winner! Had the name Gruden never been brought up I think a lot of other vol fans would have liked this hire as well.

If Tee doesn't come here it shouldn't be a terrible surprise. He has better job opportunities elsewhere. That said, he better not go to Bama.

When Butch Jones said he would assemble best staff in America I guess he meant he felt like what he had at Cincy was best.

Sounds like he is bringing 5 guys from Cincy, not sure how I feel about that. Bajakian is the only one I comfortable with. Jancek was fired from UGA

I like the hire. I know of folks were irritated saying the guy wasn't genuine in his press conference by saying Tennessee was his Dream Job. But my opinion is he meant Tennessee was a destination job. There are several of those around the country. Dream job doesn't always have to mean a school you grew up watching or rooting for imo. CBJ has a winning track record and that gives hope. I do feel his first year will be unfair to judge him on as that schedule for this roster in 13 is a gauntlet.
