Unless something changes drastically for them they are a 6-6/7-5 type team.
And I’m not sold on them beating UofSC to get bowl eligibility. They are on a stupid schedule that is doing them no favors.
While it was a nice night win that the Vols were never threatened in it’s not the win it was going to be.

This game was a middle of the road, game. What made it feel like more was OU in SEC 1st game, First big SEC game of the year, Josh Heupel returns, night game, in Norman, Iamaleava, and Tennessee #1 in Total Offense.
It was a very emotional game. Props for not pooping the bed. But in the end, it was middle of road, and we got more games to play.
Glad we got an off week. Let's roll.

We beat an SEC team on the road (in a hostile environment) with a Freshman QB and a Freshman RB carrying much of the load. That could have been a huge stumbling block. Don't overvalue that...but don't undervalue it, either.

with a Freshman QB
I agree, and great call out on RB. But they also are both Redshirt Freshman, not just freshman.
I mean the QB has gone through 2 springs and 2 falls and started a bowl game last year. IMO, a good coach gets him ready. And he was "Very Ready Enough", so he was ready.
But just clarifying, it wasn't like Nico and Bishop showed up on campus in June.
