It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few years if we can keep pulling in good talent and get to y'all's level in both depth and talent.
It's kinda hard, the Chavis defense is pretty much designed to stop the offense Sumlin has been running.

Yes but we can adapt it to score a few more points. If we can get the talented guys we are landing on the defensive side of the ball to just give us a good not great defense then things should even out.

It sounds stupidly simplistic, but it almost becomes a numbers game at some point. LSU held the ball for like, almost 40 minutes in the game this past season. I know your defense is weak, and it's a necessity to score quickly, but you gotta find a way to slow the offense down a bit.

Hey wade, how many threads are you talking about A&M in, right now?

As many as I want, bitch. You wanna fight?

While it doesn't take away from the arse kicking that LSU administered to A&M last season, I don't know that it is a predictor of the future. The weather was terrible and Johnny had a broken finger in that game and really shouldn't have played. LSU did a lot of things to disrupt him but he just couldn't pass with his usual accuracy either. In both of Johnny's games with LSU he also seemed to try to force things and do too much. You just can't do that with a defense with LSU's speed.
No moral victory, we lost and last badly and probably would have anyway. Still, I don't know that with better execution if A&M won't have more success offensively next year.

No, he looked terrible, and frustrated.
He also had a pretty miserable game in 2012 though, when he was completely healthy, albeit against a very good defense.
There's no real gap in talent between the two teams, but I think our defense will give Sumlin fits every year whereas some other division teams will not.

aTm will eventually beat LSU and this will end up being a back-and-forth type thing
there I admitted it

Hell, they might beat us this year.

Ok let's clean this up.
Here's the point I'm making regarding last year's discussion: Looking back, it wasn't unreasonable to suggest A&M might finish with the top class. This is because A&M will finish with the 5th ranked class. Thus, it's silly to dismiss this conversation by pointing to last year's. In the latter, we suggested A&M might end up with the very best class. In reality, it instead became one of the very best. We missed the mark but not by a whole hell of a lot.
Problem with this is it's like saying the number 2 horse in the 1973 Belmont Triple Crown Race didn't miss the mark by much. It may have been number 2 but it's laughable to say it ever had a chance at being number 1.

Good. Maybe Project can stop exaggerating the size of A&M's penis now.

Well I haven't been exaggerating it, but I can stop showing it off.

I laughed because it's true. We're not used to it... not on this level.
If you think about it, we're really just recruiting this badass out of necessity. We don't have a choice. When you have Bama, Auburn, LSU, and South Carolina on the schedule every year, you're merely keeping up.
Of course, in the past we had OU and Texas every year, and couldn't remotely keep up.
So, you were making fun of us, but we all know it's true.

I think it all depends.
If A&M has an average to good season next year they might keep momentum.
If things go really badly they might see some slowing down.
If Charlie Strong manages to unleash the Texas beast it might impact.
There are too many variables to really know. A&M is trendy right now but there might be some loss of national visibility now that Johnny Football is gone and if the team finishes behind Bama, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Not saying they will but it could happen.

I'd like to see a graph illustrating your recruiting budget over the last 5 years.

In the Rivals.com Era (2002-present) the following has happened.
From 2002 (Slocum's final class) to 2011 (Sherman's final class), A&M's results include:
-4 5-star recruits
-57 4-star recruits
-2 top ten classes (2003, 2005)
-3 top 15 classes (2003, 2004, 2005)
That's an average of 6 4+ star recruits/class
From 2012-2014 (assuming no surprises Wednesday), A&M's results include:
-4 5-star recruits
-32 4-star recruits
-1 top 5 class (2014)
-1 top 10 class (2014)
-3 top 15 classes (2012, 2013, 2014)
That's an average of 12 4+ star recruits/class and just under 2 5-star recruits/class
