Why can't a coach call and talk to a recruit whenever they want to?

What's the big deal?

I think it is to give coaches and recruits a break from the grind. I bet the assistant coaches have the dead periods circled on their calendars looking forward to it.

Recruiting is very tiring for everyone involved - from the constant calls and visits to planning your announcement shite gets old real fast.

In Recruiting, Minutes feel like years and Days feel like Decades.

Coaches need the break and recruits do too

In recruiting, it’s a constant war of escalation. If you are allowed to call/text constantly, you have to in order to compete with the the other coaches who are undoubtedly doing/thinking the same. On the flip side, recruits get burnt out on communicating with a bunch of coaches who won’t stop badgering them at every moment. Could make a case that the dead period should be longer.

It gives some coaches an opportunity to cheat while others follow the rules.
