A large portion of our fan base will still insist that he's a very good recruiter

Ty Chandler makes him irrelevant IMO. The others hurt considering how awful our QB recruiting has been, and the fact that one is a VOLS fan from 10 minutes down the road while the other is Tee's son

Yes, but I could see one of the 17 guys decommit, I hope not b/c they are both studs. This actually helps the Cocks with Joyner who I don't want to see go to Columbia. Lyle was talking a lot of shite on the recruiting trail last year about Clemson, he should know better but the guy is flat out stupid.

Johnson will be gone IMO, don't think he's anywhere near good enough to compete for a starting job at Clemson

seems like a shift in philosophy.

We are just a much better team now and we are looking at the best player available. We are looking at 5 star RBs and it's hard to keep a dual threat QB fresh for the entire season. Guys like Lamar and Boyd killed it for the first half of the season but get worn down during he final stretch. Once Boyd got some rest during bowl practices he would played lights out against LSU and OSU which is no small task.Johnson is borderline dual threat, not as good of a runner as Watson but just as fast.

Hard to say about Hunter, he could compete next year. I've seen some really good tape from him but he had a terrible showing at the opening. Watson looked very average at the Elite 11 so I don't think you can put a bunch of stock into it. Hope he sticks around, they can always transfer out if it does not work out.

He barely completes 50% of his passes and had a terrible showing at the biggest recruiting event. Don't see how he wouldn't get beaten out by Lawrence in the future

Sunshine!
This kid can ball. This kid was labeled one of the top players in the country after his fricking freshman year. Hopefully he pans out.

Ive enjoyed watching him make those Gwinnett schools his bitch the past two years in the dome.

To be fair to Hunter Johnson, he had some other obligation during the Opening/Elite 11 that had him traveling across the country multiple times within 2-3 days.

That's tough.

Can't blame him for chosing Clemson. They've got very good WRs and an offense that puts up numbers

It's the level of competition for Hunter, if he had a decent O line and even some 3 star wideouts he would be above 60%. Throws a great ball, very quick release. It does concern me for next year that the competition level will be a huge jump but he has all the tools. The talent evaluators see something on film because it's not his stats that have him ranked that high.

In some ways yes, but this guy really is an exception. He's a Clowney type recruit, just at the QB position. There's not a single scout who doesn't think he'll be in the NFL barring injury. He's 6'6 and can legit move with a rocket arm. It's absurd how good he can be.

This x100.

If you could make Andy Dalton a LOT better passer, then Lawrence would be that version of Dalton at TCU. He'll be a good enough runner that you have to respect his legs, and he'll kill you if the defense isn't honest. He also throws so freaking well on the run it's idiotic.

Omg at this guy with the skill players we're bringing in.

What about Cordarrion Richardson?

Richardson has no VOLS ties and is from Memphis, which might as well be Arkansas.
