Ags offered a JUCO TE committed to Indiana. With us missing on Smith and Moss, I guess they're going JUCO and hopefully H Back route with Hansford.

And now The Chavis Conundrum is becoming apparent to Aggie. Great from September-through November, a horrible liability thereafter. If you don't believe it, look at LSU over-signing like our hair is on fire on the defensive side of the ball to compensate for all that defensive class depth that isn't there any longer. Thank God our draft-eligible guys are staying or we'd be so screwed.

Well that is not true at all.
Dodson & Okeke aren't even recruited without Chavis. Most likely the same for Hansford. I highly doubt A&M is able to land Madubuike, Oliver, or stand a chance with Jones.
And if you want to look at last year we don't have Mack without Chavis.

Chief doesn't recruit our entire defensive class. That would be pretty dumb IMO. Our staff does evaluations and then area recruiters handle the rest. Sometimes those area recruiters don't even coach the same side of the ball as that recruit! It's pretty crazy stuff

LSU is in good shape now, but I think you will have a very different dynamic right before the season. The new staff is supposed to be moving to a "hybrid" defense that runs a base 3-4. There are going to be a bunch of upset kids going into next season, because they over recruited every position on defense.

LSU won't run anywhere near a 3-4 this upcoming year.

I'm not flaming but of course you would say that. You'll pretend he's a legit recruiter every time you sign a kid, even though everybody knows he's a mediocre recruiter at best. We'll just politely pretend all these other schools aren't cherry-picking all this Texas defensive talent that a premier recruiter would have wrapped up. After he is gone you'll concede the argument, and not a day before. That's how we all do it.

Yep. I'll run a composite ranking of the state of Texas and see how A&M stacks up

Call it what you want. There is too much talent and too many options for any single school to lock down the state of Texas. LSU, BAMA, and other programs do a nice job of getting big time commits from Texas and other states. A&M gets its fair share too. Recently more so than in a long time. Go back and look at A&M's defensive recruiting 10 years ago to now.

What is your point?
A&M is only(currently) getting recruited in state by BU. It sure isn't on the defensive side of the ball.

That you're getting out recruited by Baylor and Texas is soon to follow. You're only a hair away from being behind LSU and LSU only has 4 commits from the state.

Depends on signing down. A&M will likely finish #1 in the state.

You don't think Texas is going to close like expected?

Expected by who?
Texas will close but have some room to make up, and even if A&M is slow to the finish line, they have a nice lead.

If you had a high-tier dynamic recruiters and had five more guys on that recruiting list like the LSU/Bama/Ole Miss staff would if they were recruiting at A&M, you'd see. They aren't locking down the guys you would expect the only SEC member in Texas would. A&M IS "competing" but not dominating. It looked like you might there for a while, but you guys didn't sustain. Especially with the attrition and the negativity surrounding that.IMHO, you guys are going to get a "C" in 2016 relative to what the potential is (take that as a compliment).

I don't disagree with any of that. Our coaches made too many missteps this cycle. We will have the best class in Texas but the seperation should be greater. 8-4 didn't help either

Brandon Jones? No

I'm about to go 5/5.
I'll take it further...
Jack Jones? No
Jauan Williams? No
Pennamon? Yes
Hansford? Yes
To blame Chavis is silly still, imo. This is all on Sumlin.
McCulloch, Cuffee, B. Jones, Daniels, and a couple more all sign here if it wasn't for how he handled the NFL rumors and QB situation/transfers. The negative recruiting that came from that is almost comical.
Carry on with the debate, but either way we are going to stumble to the NSD.
