Yeah, they offered him 1 million more than what Tennessee was offering him on signing day. Nothing you can do about that.

Yup. To Rich's point above, we were offering him a 400k NIL deal and Utah came in towards the end with a 1.4M offer. That + his dad and uncle being former players at Utah helped seal the deal. He seems like a good kid and I wish him success moving forward.

Living here, I'd be hard pressed to believe the UofU has $1.4 mi to spend on NIL for a freshman. That would be almost 1/4 of their ENTIRE 2024 NIL budget.

ETA: Their 2025 NIL budget is around $20mil, but that's still around 7% of the total on 1 freshman.

On ON3 they said Salesi got a 7 figure NIL deal from Utah and it was more than Tennessee was willing to go because they saw him more as a luxury than a necessity.
