Hate to tell you but....

Last year was the first year Texas had a Top 10 roster based on recruiting rankings
Most of those players were freshmen.

He never had the talent at Houston.

Jimbo with Top 5 talent...at Florida St went 5-6.

I'm not comparing Mack Brown and Herman. I'm comparing the players that have come out of Texas under Herman's watch. Not much drafted, and no real improvement from any of the players that is noticeable.

Kris Boyd, Omenihu (whatever his name is), goldilocks, etc ... All an embarrassment.

To be fair, I think the OL is slowly improving, but Hand is known as the "sack master" in the SEC for a reason. Not a good term for an OL coach

As for Herman cherry picking? Not ever going to happen with Fisher at A&M.

This is funny....

He has only been there two years.
The rookies Texas put in the NFL last year had nothing but complements from the NFL.
Especially Poona Ford and Holton Hill.
Two UFA who made NFL rosters.

Coaching is part of the job. The thing that impressed me with Fisher is the improvement in the upperclassmen he didn't recruit. He got a ton out of Sumlin's recruits, which most had written off.

Herman hasn't done much except badmouth kids like Holton Hill for leaving school for the draft.

Holton Hill screwed himself.
What he learned at Texas helped him in the NFL.
Now he takes football seriously. He truthfully should have been a first round pick but was viewed as a troublemaker.
Not because of Herman but because he wasn't taking football serious.

Omenihu....
You really think NFL teams don't want him.
The guy is a stud. Could easily end up the #1 DE in this draft class.

So what you're saying is that he's going to be drafted ahead of:

Nick Bosa
Clelin Ferrell
Rashan Gary
Montez Sweat
Jachai Polite
Jaylon Ferguson

Most scouts have him rated as the #16 Defensive End (not #16 overall player, #16 Defensive End)

He is at #9.

But Poona Ford was undrafted and after one season looks like a Top 3 DT from that class.

For the first time in history Texas and Texas a&m can finish in the top 5 in recruiting at the same time. No other state can claim they had two teams finish in the top 5 not even Florida or Cali

UF and FSU mentioned in 2012.

Had to go back 1 more year to find it again.

2011 247 team rankings:
#1 Alabama
#5 Auburn

Charlie strong dismissed a quite a few of the 2012 class due to off field issues. So that really wasn't the # 2 class by the time the season started

Almost all of our highest rated commits dropped except for TQ Jackson.

Noticed tonight on Rivals that we've dropped to 18th, but the 10th through 17th placed teams all have fewer 4-5* players. There are no teams behind us that have as many as we do.

edit: Only 6 teams on rivals have more, including those in front of Michigan.

He was wrong...

But the talent in Texas is improving.
Same as Georgia.
Both states are getting people from all over the country plus they are investing into youth atheltics.

Three of the Top 5 are Texas heavy.
LSU has a few players. Plus both Bama and UGA have a Texas player signed.

But I think you can say the same thing about Georgia.
Must recruit Texas and Georgia to win in today's age.
