That publication just puts out what the recruiting services say. And Mississippi does not put out as many great NFL players as Florida, Georgia, Texas etc does. Nothing against Mississippi, because of population and other factors.
Here is the statement you took offense to:

Typically in a recruiting thread we talk about recruits, and recruits are gauged by their starts. You can argue all you want about how accurate the ratings are, but the fact remains that the teams that
recruit at or near the top according to the stars are the teams that typically play for the championships.
Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, LSU etc usually are in the mix.
Note I said GREAT players. Does Mississippi put out some great players? Absolutely. Would you like for me to list all of the great NFL players those other states have put out over the years.
Please don't embarrass yourself.

I am talking the difference between regular players and top of the line players. This is a college football board and we are talking about college football recruits, are we not? I thought this point was pretty obvious.
Mississippi does not put out the number of big time college football players that a lot of other states do. I gave you the numbers and a link to those numbers that are put out by the recruiting services.
RD showed you that Mississippi has somewhere around 14 or 15th as far as players in the NFL.....just about the same as number of college Blue Chip players.
The place (state wise) Mississippi holds as far as NFL players is about the same as they hold for College Blue Chip players.
I'm not sure how you are missing this very important point.

You're comparing Mississippi to states with populations ranging from nearly 5 million to 30 million. MS has 2.9 million and is mostly scouted over, even though they continue to miss on prospects. There are five areas of the state that are scouted, i.e. metro Jackson, Golden Triangle, coast, pinebelt, and south Memphis. After that it's a wash, and kids end up with a default rating.
And with juco prospects it's even worse. This despite MS having the best juco football system in the country.

You’re arguing something different than him. He’s talking total blue chip recruits and you’re trying to make this per capita and NFL players. Y’all are just going to continue to go in circles on this.

Do you know what RIF means. It is a term that was used back in the 70's. Reading Is Fundamental.
I plainly said that Mississippi does not put out the big numbers that other states do. I also said that there were a number of factors, one being population.
I also said for the number of recruits they put out they are of very high quality.
And all you want to do is argue with me, then repeat exactly what I have been saying?

I'm not sure what the argument is anymore, so I will just bow out and let it go. he can have the last say. If anybody is interested they can read what has been said and see for themselves.

Mississippi has 2.9 million population, it packs quite the punch for athletes. The state is almost 40 percent African American, so it has elite athletes for football. Dan Mullen did pretty good recruiting mainly just Mississippi players. Most of those kids were 3* and even 2* kids. Now the recruiting services are only going to cover about a dozen high school kids here every year, and maybe 5 juco players, which is a disservice to themselves and their subscribers.

This is a kid that probably signs with MSU if they have a RB friendly offense. He's from a heavy MSU territory and has a lot of State people around him.
