Nice pickup.

He appears to be a very good kid off the field too. He should do well being coached by Orgeron.

I'm wondering if his teamate Kendrick Haynes is a take for us. His junior year highlight tape is 12 minutes long, that's a lot of tackles.

Anyone know what kind of completion their school plays?

No idea. I don't really recognize the name Murphy. I know Vigor, St. Paul's, etc.

Yeah I would like to know as well, I have not heard much about him. He seems like a under the radar 3* guy could be good as 5 tech in a 3-4.

I know we offered a few months ago, but I think he was down the board a bit behind Byers, Wilson and Shelvin.

This was what one of the BOL mods said about him less than a week ago (I think most felt he wouldn't make a decision for a while):

quote:

What are some names of some under the radar DL prospects that the staff is looking at and do you think we will take more of DE types or DT/N types in this cycle or 50/50

Seems as though it's trending more DE type guys that can move around along the defensive line. A couple name that aren't talked about much to watch are Neil Farrell and Justin Thomas.

Assume the following: (Two of Randolph/Wilson/Smith commit on the OL and that is the limit of 4 OL & Jedrick Wills wants to go to Bama) On the DL, if Bama strikes out on Wilson/Buggs/Shelvin, is there a possibility that Tackle Jedrick Wills, 6-5, 300, could be the best candidate available as a defensive line prospect or specimen? (as a zero to three DL technique player)

That's not a bad idea. Just not sure if that's been discussed by the staff. Don't forget there are still guys on the board at DL. Michigan commitAubrey Solomon is still a big target, Malik Young is still out there and Neil Farrell, along with a couple other guys.

Alabama isn't taking a large number of defensive linemen in this class. I think it's Marvin Wilson or bust for us. Maybe Justin Thomas sneaks in due to being a legacy.

Ed Orgeron and Dameyune Craig recruited him, and will continue to do so. I'd put my money on it sticking.
GREAT pickup

Because you're trolling the RB over a 6'4" 295lb recruit that has offers from most of the SEC along with several of the top programs in the country.

Well to be fair, unless you really follow Alabama recruiting closely you probably haven't heard of Farrell. I have because I run the recruiting thread on our board and link the profile and highlights of every kid Alabama offers.

I also watch the film of all the offers and peruse the profile pages. That's how I know Farrell is a great kid off the field due to reading a couple articles on him back when we offered. The average fan wouldn't know that.

ETA: Farrell is a good prospect who I would have liked to land. Best of luck to him at LSU.

It's trolling to state a fact now? It's not like he's some highly touted guy that everybody has heard of. He's from Alabama and I've never heard his name mentioned in regards to Auburn recruiting. So I think it's completely reasonable for an Alabama fan to have never heard of him either.

Just because it hurts your feelings doesn't mean it's trolling.
