So one instance marks a trend now?

God, I love that kind of delusional logic.

Wonder warthog, you are incredible. First, Petrino is a very good coach and has done very well with the talent hat he has had. But you are making quite a leap here. Arkansas was nothing this past year without those wide receivers. That was possibly the best wide receiver corps the sec has ever seen. Regardless, arky was only able to achieve 3rd in their division. auburn was the youngest team in the nation out of what? 119 teams? Arky now has a one game winning streak against a team that has by any measurement far more talent going into next year....and arky has passed auburn by as a program? Have you noticed that no one, not even your fellow razorbacks have jumped in to support this idea? You are on an island pal, and there is a reason for that

All I'm saying is that even after replacing not one but two coordinators they still pulled a top ten class...It's goddamned impressive to me.

Yes, very nice class under the circumstances.

Oh arky might very well beat Auburn next year, maybe. But Auburn lost precious little, added a ton of talent, and upgraded the DC in a big way. You came very close arky. Too bad LSU and Bama continued being themselves when u were strong. It's all downhill from here. At least you have the cotton bowl. Did y'all win that? I honestly don't remember.

TKane, about all I can advise you to do is sit back and watch. The proof is in the pudding as they say.

It's not just me. Check every early preseason poll you can find. See how many Hog fans and honest Auburn fans you can find that think Auburn will finish ahead of the Hogs next year. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that it's highly unlikely, when you examine all the facts.

It's indisputable that we were ahead of you this year, and that was with our running game crippled by the loss of Knile Davis and Brod Green for most of the season. Dennis Johnson was coming back from a major injury himself but did help us out somewhat. So we HAD to rely pretty much on the passing game, every body knew it and we STILL finished 11-2. Our running game can't help but be more productive next year with Davis back and some pretty darn good young backs coming in. Yes, we lost some good receivers, but Cobi and the young replacements are pretty darn good as well. So, on the surface it seems we should be a good bit more balanced next year.

ETA: By the way, we've upgraded substantially at DC as well.

Uh, yes. Paul Haynes >> Willy Robinson. Taver Johnson >> Reggie Johnson, I think.

Auburn just went through a mindfrick of an investigation and we are paying money?

Preseason polls don't mean a thing. Stop talking about them because they're pointless. The last two undefeated seasons we've had, we started out in the high teens or low twenties. Just because you finished third in the west and beat us last year doesn't mean that will continue. Last year's Auburn team was the youngest in the nation and was replacing 30 something players from the year before. Your "point" is based on something that hasn't even happened.

That link is hilarious. One Auburn fan got banned for telling them to "untuck".

Petrino evaluates recruits on more than 'stars'.

As an Auburn fan I bought into that too when Tubs was here. You can have a decent to good year every so often due to seniors. However, overall I have learned for a team to be consistently up on top. You need to be in the top 10 or higher yearly.

Petrino is a fine coach, but don't believe the developing them up is a championship recipe in the long run.

You definitely need to have great recruiting classes to consistently win. Tubs was able to find diamonds in the rough and coach up a lot of players, but it's not in the same league as having top players though.

I figured Petrino consistently winning would pull in some top classes by now, but it hasn't happened yet. I think part of it is based on location and Petrino's personality kind of sucks from my personal view.

Like I said, the proof will be in the pudding.
Get some popcorn, sit back and watch.

Funny how preseason polls 'don't mean anything' (unless you are ranked highly in them, then they become something.) To some degree neither do 'recruiting rankings'. Hell, they are even less subjective and accurate than the preseason polls.

Next season will be fun.

Our D-line is young as frick and has pretty good depth and talent. We return every linebacker except Eltoro and brought in two 4 stars and our 5 star from last year is returning from injury.

We lost nobody from this senior class really. Our staff could basically just go after any big dogs with interest and could afford to strike out on a few. Pretty solid class in my oppinion.

Auburn is 22-5 over the last two years, with one SEC Championship and one BCS Championship.

Congrats on that Cotton Bowl trophy and stuff.

No, no, no, they're ahead of us as a program because they're ranked higher in some real early preseason polls for next year.

Big difference is Arkansas' record improved from '10 to '11. Auburn went the other way.

Congrats on that SEC Championship and BCS Championship from two years ago yourself! Now, see if you can win your own state again.
