Both are great players.

Hootie's buyout was just too much money compared to what we got Adams for.

He claims Bama currently leads because your safeties suck and he thinks he has a better chance at early PT there. He also changes his list weekly -- sometimes daily.

Oh, wow.

State has a future #1 overall pick and he isn't going to change them.

His statement is just as large of indictment on quality as quantity -- but that would require you having common sense to understand. If he didn't think he was better than who you had coming back by a larger margin in comparison to MSU, he wouldn't think he would see the field sooner at Bama than MSU.

You can't be this dense.

Bama loses three safeties this year, one of them going to the first round, and the rest of our safeties are unknown at this point because they either redshirted or are incoming freshman. Most of them were highly recruited, ranked right around where Jamal Peters is currently. A safety who has redshirted or is from the 2014 class is obviously not going to be a known factor for a 2015 recruit.

Here is our depth:
-Shawn Burgess-Becker four star safety 2015
-Deionte Thompson, four star safety 2015
-Hootie Jones, four star safety 2014
-Ronnie Clark, four star safety 2014
-Anthony Averett four star safety. 2013 RS
-Jonathan Cook, three star safety. 2013 RS

-Geno Smith (assumed incumbent)

Even if he were to sign with us, he wouldn't be the best safety in his class, much less the rest of the team. Oh, but please tell me all about how Miss. St. has better safeties than Alabama.

Oh engie... You don't spell "Tony Conner and Vonn Bell" J-u-s-t-i-n-C-o-x.. Stop being silly.

There's a reason these Bama posters , who pay very close attention to Crimson Tide recruiting on an almost daily basis, have no clue who Justin Cox is...

I'm still a little butthurt about that one

Von Bell: Meh. A little undersized for our scheme.

ETA Just looked up Bell's profile. As a recruit he was 5'11.5 193, as a player at tOSU he is listed at 6'1 203. Looks like he grew after all

I agree... That's why Saban wanted Justin Cox so bad...

Justin. Cox.

Pulling A'Shawn Robinson and Reuben Foster at the end was big in 2013 but Saban and his staff are still shaking their heads over not getting two years with an elite talent like Justin Cox.

I follow Bama recruiting as much as anyone, I had to google Justin Cox to see who he was.

Damn it. Did you have to bring it up again? Justin Cox might be the biggest miss of the Saban era. I am sure some bagman lost his job over it.

Oh yaaaaa!!! I remember justin cox... Psych, no I don't because we don't recruit safeties from juco. Only OL, DL, and CB.

His best fit would be Mississippi state, imo. We could have used him but I guess he doesn't want to leave the delta area understandably.
