I understand what you are saying, and you could be right....but a lot of the top kids think they are good enough to win a job, and want the competition. And, using your logic, Auburn does not have a chance, because they do not recruit OLine well.
We can all find reasons why, or why not a kid will choose their favorite team over a rival. But rarely does the reasoning we come up with match with what a kid is actually thinking. Our reasoning is usually based upon wishes and hopes. A kid will go to Alabama because they win. Period. A kid will go to Georgia because it appears as if we are building a machine. A kid might go to Auburn because of opportunity.
There are thousands of reasons kids go to different schools....or avoids a school.

It's all perception. Auburn fans think they did not recruit Georgia well last season because they missed on some big targets, and forget that they still took a lot of good players.
In fairness the players they got, all in all, were not players that Georgia recruited heavily. This year the only player we recruited heavily that they have gotten so far was Owen Pappoe. But he was a big one.

Its somewhat of a double edge sword with so much in-state talent.25 years ago AU would be doing back flips
if they hauled in 6 blue chippers but it is all relative if there's THAT many more blue chippers ranked ahead of em.The problem for us is that other teams can still win big when they take kids were not pursuing
