Dude is the ultimate boom or bust prospect.

My thoughts, exactly.

Has all the athletic tools to be a monster but runs like he's 5'9" 180 lbs. Interested to see how we use him.

He seems to go down on first contact, and is easy to bring down at that.

However, if the coaches can get him to lower his center of gravity without losing his speed he could also turn into a really good running back.

They have him rated pretty highly, so I would put him down as a great get for the time being, and hope you coaching staff can put some meanness in him. With his size he ought to have DB's running away from him.

Toughness on a football field is a mindset in my opinion.

This is exactly right. It's a matter of running mad when you have the football. Wanting to truck somebody. I believe it can be taught, but it depends on the kids willingness and personality.

If Auburn can instill it he will be a very good back.

We actually don't. You must not follow recruiting very closely. Joiner had his chance many times and we told him no thanks when numbers started to get tight.

LSU leads or is in the top 3 for three of the top 15 2019 running backs.

Congrats on Joiner though. He's pretty soft.

It appears LSU landed enough guys that were higher on their board that they ran out of room for him. It's kind of lame that LSU didn't tell him that so he could move on to his other options right away.

You can thank Orgeron for that. The kicker was not supposed to use up a scholarship for us,

No we don’t. I don’t blame the coaches at all for moving along. The kid had his chance for months to commit and wanted to play games.

What it basically boiled down to was that Joiner thought he was more valuable than LSU did. Good luck to him.
