It's crazy that auburn has only had 7 double digit win seasons since 1990. Y'all are so feast or famine.

True but I'd rather the highs and lows than the constant mediums.

I would trade all of Richt’s years for what AU had. If we win this year I will reevaluate that though.

Another thing to consider with Del McGhee coming to Auburn is Rodney Garner is part of the original coaching staff who recruited him to Auburn in the first place. Might even be the specific coach who recruited him to Auburn, but I am not positive about that. Garner was definitely part of Auburn's coaching staff during Del McGhee's playing career at Auburn. But I am sure he has a closer relationship with Kirby Smart

Auburn has only won fewer than 7 games twice since the year 2000. Auburn has won at least 8 games in 14 of the last 18 years. I wouldn't really call that a famine

Yea if/when UGA gets over the hump it would definitely change the conversation.

I always love idiots like djsdawg bragging about winning a few more meaningless games but ignoring the reason you won a few more meaningless games is because you played an easier schedule.

There is no doubt Auburn has played a tougher schedule than UGA since 1990. We played Florida every year during the Spurrier years and then the east largely went to crap after he left

Yea, Since when are sports about winning games? Stop acting like the west has been a stout division forever. The west didn't become the dominant division until 2009 and the east didn't become crap until 2014. We smashed your team in the seccg worse than y'all smashed mizzou in 2013.

Florida dominated during the 1990's, but I already pointed out Auburn played them just as much as Georgia did. Why are you too dumb to understand that?

I never refuted you making that point. Don't be an idiot and accuse me of stuff that didn't happen. You are already an idiot for claiming the east has been weak since 2001.

So you are saying the west was not strong in 2017 because uga beat auburn worse than auburn beat mizzou in 2013

Given that Auburn beat UGA by a larger margin just weeks earlier, I’d say you’re full of shite. “Extreme fortune” that our best offensive player was hurt.

From yesterday

That’s apparently been the case with Georgia running backs coach Del McGee, whose efforts both on the field and the recruiting trail have perked the attention of other programs.
“I’ve had some (offers),” McGee said Saturday. “But I’m very, very happy at the University of Georgia. I’m from Georgia, I love where the program is going and I love the leadership of Coach Smart has presented to us. Athens has accepted our family. My family is happy, my son’s happy, we’re in a really, really good place right now.”
McGee downplayed the notion that he’s some sort of recruiting guru for convincing some of the nation’s top players to come to UGA. “It’s not really hard to sell UGA. UGA is a great university, and I think they see the vision that Coach Smart has laid out and kids want to be a part of that,” McGee said. “But even with Coach Smart’s vision, you’ve got to be able to recruit to be successful in this league and be a national power. I think all our staff has done a great job taking pride in recruiting not only really athletically good kids, really, really good kids as well.”

I guess to some degree you're not wrong here. The entire SEC is the recipient of some extreme fortune that Auburn decided to overpay for a gimmicky HS coach to poorly manage the roster and pick a running back to run into the ground. Pretty fricking fortunate... Round of applause for this jackass...

Stop it for two reasons:

1. I mentioed a comparison of the 2013 and 2017 Seccg. Which one was more dominating into? Willing to Ban bet over it?

2. Your best O player played 4 q's and had no room to run.

I don't think Dell is going to leave, and I don't even know if Gus has approached him (though he better have at least tried), but you are really using a coach quote to prove your point?

You think he's going to come out and say, yea I've got some other opportunities and I'm thinking about taking one of them when he's two days away from coaching in the Rose Bowl and recruiting for UGA? Come on man

You merely said the west must’ve been weak considering the UGA beatdown was worst than the SECCG in 2013. However, you failed to account for the beatdown that Auburn put on UGA which was a larger margin than what UGA put on an undeniably tired and injured Auburn team. Next, of course the SECw wasn’t that strong if losing one offensive player caused the SECw division champs to do a complete 180. There was clearly not enough depth for Auburn to be a serious contender for the CFP. The east was a one pony show, so the SECw was still stronger, though. (Sidebar: After Missouri’s latest bowl game, it’s become obvious that they’re meant for the east )
With that said, kudos to Georgia for beating an injured and worn out Auburn team that was still licking their wounds after beating Bama. However, competing in a charmin soft division plus mulligans= “extreme fortune” for future reference. You might want to consider that before throwing stones in your glasshouse.

Lastly, the UGA beatdown was no where close to the Auburn-Missouri game. For one, Missouri’s best offensive player wasn’t clearly hurt and their gameplan remained intact throughout the game. Secondly, Auburn didn’t give up 59 points and 545 rushing yards against UGA unlike Missouri in 2013. If anything, it was closer to 250 rushing yards and not much of a beatdown at all. Maybe if you added another 300 rushing yards I’d compare it to the 2013 game.

Our best player played hurt. I figured that much was obvious. He was clearly laboring in the SECCG just to stay upright...
