Yet Auburn had a higher winning percentage between 1979-2000. Georgia only surpassed Auburn after the eastern division turned to complete dog shite in recent years. Nice of you to ignore those facts

You can throw out whatever numbers you want but the facts are no UGA fan would trade your last 35 years for ours.
Maybe if you win these next two then you could make that argument.

The last 40 years is not as telling or consequential as the entirety of a data set or a subset that is more recent. Surely you know this and are ignoring it to advance an argument?

1978-2013:
Uga 10th
Au 15th
Nice try at that spin, but it doesn't hold up to reality.

Who magically picked 2013 as the year the east went to crap? Tennessee has lost at least four games every year since 2008. Florida has been up and down at best since Urban's last good year in 2009

Why would it embarrass me that Georgia is a larger, wealthier, and a more economically, industrially, and culturally consequential state than AL?

You and phan sure are reaching for some super Arbitrary comparisons. It's beyond pathetic to attempt to try to separate the Hershel and bo years, but that's what auburn has been reduced to.

Because 2014 is when the east went to crap and why are we including the years in which the west was crap? Phan is displaying Pure desperation at this point.

You wish the east went to crap in 2014. The west has still won 12 of the last 17 SEC championships.

Your desperation is satisfying. The east was strong in 2012 and 2013. It hasn't been strong since. It's not like the west has been particularly strong outside of Bama since 2014 either though.

UGA has 6 NC’s by various polling agencies over the years, but only claims consensus MNC, where half plus of polling agencies naming them MNChampions. GT has never won an AP MNC, and claims the coaching poll piece. They’re all subjective and claimed.
Was 2004 won on the field? No, that was totally bogus and Auburn got hosed. Was OSU really the best team in 2002? I don’t think so. What qualifies a sportswriter to say who is or isn’t the best team in the country. Until you have a specific criteria, won on the field, based on objective criteria it will continue to be this way. The current playoff is subjective. Ohio State and USC weren’t in it....regardless of qualification yeah or nay.
I prefer objective comparisons based on wins and losses. But I guess the fact that it is so arbitrary allows for volley forums such as these.
Cheers.

The Eastern division champ gave up 545 rushing yards in the 2013 SECCG. That’s not very strong.

The west champ needed a miracle to beat uga in 2013, so that's not a good point.

1.) Georgia needed a shitty prevent defense to allow the Hail Mary to be completed. Not a good counter.

It was a great counter. The auburn qb threw it to the uga defender rather than the wr, and the LT held on the play. It might have been the luckiest play of all time

Another horrible point. Your defenders were not trying to bat the ball down and the ball tipped right to the path of our receiver. Your problem, not mine. All of that after Auburn shot ourselves in the foot all fourth quarter and after a UGA touchdown was gifted by the refs.

It is comical that Georgia fans bring up luck in the 2012 game, yet they ignore the luckiest play of all in Aaron Murray being given credit for a touchdown he really didn't score
Posted on 12/30/17 at 7:51 pm to jangalang
The problem for your counter is that this isn't about ugas problem. This is about auburn needing extreme fortune to beat the 4th place east team in 2013. Nothing you are saying is decreasing how lucky auburn was.

The only reason he didn't really score was because of a face mask penalty that wasn't flagged. Funny you want to ignore that.

We needed some fortune to beat several west teams that year as well, Miss State, TAM, Bama, etc. Some were good teams, some were above average. Your point is moot. Against Georgia, Gus simply let his foot off the gas and ultimately, Auburn took advantage of Georgia’s shite prevent defense. Either way, Georgia almost winning does zero in showing how good the SECe was. One could also make a case that that game was close due to the intense rivalry over the years as well. Or that Auburn was playing down to the level of its mediocre opponent

Your argument is the SEC east was strong in 2013. Your strategy of proving that Auburn was lucky to win against the mediocre #3 team in the East is shite and doesn’t prove how strong the East was. Again, Auburn ran for 545 rushing yards against the eastern division champ and their Big 12 defense. Think about the beatdown that UGA just put on Auburn and then add 300 more rushing yards and that will lead you to the answer of how strong your Eastern conference division champ really was in 2013.
