Why are we accepting a committment from this clown?

I guess we aren't going to land any of our top targets at OL.

fwiw, Auburn may be the team to beat for Alex Kozan, OG from Colorado.

I know the momentum has slowed in AU recruiting, but this OL class has potential to be good(Latu and Calahoun committed, leading for watson)... combine that with 2011's OL class, and AU could be setting itself up for a solid offensive front for the next several years.

With the abortion we called an Oline this season, we really need some help. Thankfully The Matador AJ Greene only has one game left.

But 2010 taught me not get get my hopes up with recruits. Oline was supposed to be L to R..Gayden, Christian, ?, Mack, Coleman. Looking like none of them will ever play a meaningful snap at AU.

We lead for Watson, maybe we're adding more o lineman with that extra scholly opening up.

I'm guessing that's not good for Avery,Diamond, and other tackles tho.

Man, frick this noise. Seriously, we couldn't get a back-up plan better than this guy? He needs to gain 80 pounds just to step on the field.

Here's what Keith Niebuhr said about Leff when he scouted at the Daphne-Fairhope game:
quote:

Leff hasn't gotten much publicity, but the Southern Miss commit had an excellent game against a talent-laden Daphne defense. Leff has a great offensive tackle frame. He's 6-6, 255 and carries little if any bad weight. When he fills out, he should probably be in the 290 to 300 range. As you would expect of someone that size, he also has long arms. What was surprising was how good his footwork and speed were. He was quick at the snap, and often used good technique to dictate the play and get his defender into bad position. On passing plays, he was technically sound. On running plays, he showed good strength and the ability to get in front of the rusher and reach the second level. Matched up against USF defensive end commit Eric Lee, Leff had great success. Several times, he used that strength to knock Lee out of the play, which is no small feat.

not a bad scouting report. luckily, I don't think he will be needed to start for a few years, so hopefully he will be able to put on some good weight and we'll see how he turns out.

He can make him sound as good as he wants, but the kid needs to gain 80 pounds, and I doubt he even sees the field then. I wonder what recruits we're missing out on right now?

WTF.

Probably Diamond or Young. My guess is Diamond, and we still have a shot at Young, but we will see.

He needs to gain like 40-50 pounds and he obviously has the frame to do it.

Maybe this means we are getting Blake Anderson? I hope it is Koetter, but Anderson would be good too.

I was just joking about the 80 pounds

I'm still not thrilled about this. The only thing that makes me think it's even remotely okay that we got him is the fact that maybe Blake Anderson wanted him here since he'll be our OC and they were both going to be at USM. Who knows.

Not 80 lbs. Maybe 40-50lbs. But Leff is the same size that Patrick Miller is now.

Its ok to take a flyer on a sleeper. If we keep doing it eventually one will work out. So far Slade, Sullen, and Tunde have not been it. I got a feeling Leff will be the one.

Slade hasn't been bad, especially for his first year starting.
