It won't be if we miss on Steele and/or Pittman. We need to get those two because we put a lot of effort into it. That being said: It's June. Florida fans are retarded. Their primary concern is that we don't have the commitments already lined up but we haven't even had Friday Night Lights. Not even remotely concerned, if this carries into the season that's when I'll start to worry.

Mullen is a joke.

Apparently not, look how he’s recruiting. Running circles around Mullen and the country club mafia.

Yeah, with his sub 5 second 40 WR, busted knees McRae and Hunter who keeps deleting his commitment Tweet.
People used to bitch and moan about McElwain doing the exact same thing he's doing right now, and more bizarre is a Gator fan not only bashing his own coaching staff but breaking his back to make excuses for FSU's.

Trust me I’m not having to break my back, all I have to do is type this in the search bar on google.
24/7 composite rankings

So you have nothing to say about McRae having two torn ACLs? One in each knee? (It might be three, but I'm too lazy.)
You have nothing to say about our TE Krull who is 6'7'' 255 pounds running a 4.55 40 (he did it twice) vs. their WR not being able to run faster than a 5 second?
You have nothing to say about Xavier Peters being an academic casualty?
You have nothing to say about Hunter deleting his commitment Tweet and clearly is using FSU as a chip when SEC schools wouldn't accept his commitment?
No, you don't have any kind of real argument. You're relying on recruiting classes where they stand right now rather than looking at the fact that this guy is Tagglewain, and you would rather have a higher class rating with guys who weren't takes at other schools just because it looks better.

Our recruiting efforts thus far has been subpar and I'm not particularly optimistic about the rest of the class. We'll get some nice players in the end but I just don't see any kind of momentum, and we seem to be consistently losing the battles for the bigger fish.
With that said, I'm not seeing where all this hype for Taggart's recruiting comes from. His best recruit committed to Jimbo. The rest of the class is nice but he's not exactly recruiting at a Saban/Meyer/Smart level.

Who doesn’t want a higher rated recruiting class? How many of the 3 star diamonds in our class are takes at other schools? I promise Abrams isn’t neither are Marks, Whittmore, and Weston. Ethan White is a fringe guy, do you not see the questionable takes in our already terrible class?

Nobody is saying that he is, the problem is he’s not and he’s still kicking Mullen’s arse. That’s a problem.

I could be completely wrong about Taggart. Their 247 ranking is light years ahead of UF.
There is a lot of noise that Akeem Dent will not end up a Nole. He committed to the previous staff.
The two former UF commits are overrated IMO and the UF staff did not offer them. And Hunter may go down as one of the all time drama queens in recruiting.

I don’t understand why we are making excuses and trying to nit pick FSU class. This is what losers do, we should be recruiting better and that’s all there is to it. Just call a spade a spade, Mullen needs to get this class in the top 10, or he needs to re-evaluate his staff in order to get to where we need to be. FSU is in a much better position than us already and them being ahead again in recruiting should piss every Florida fan in the country off. I’m tired of losing to them and the excuses need to stop.

We are recruiting better, but you can't just go by numbers like we did with McElwain when he had the #1 class in 2019 and 2020.
Dent is out the door once he finalizes his brother's station on the team that was promised by the previous staff.
Dontae Lucas just got off of a two weekend back to back Unofficial Visits to Miami.
Fuller (FSU commit) Is trending toward the Gators after the Hunter bullshite.
Hunter is not going to land in FSU, and that Willie was stupid enough to accept his commit is ridiculous.
Goolsby wasn't a take in the SEC and went to FSU.
McRae wasn't a take in the SEC and went to FSU.
You know what we calla coach who takes recruits who aren't takes at other SEC schools? McElwain.

We need to beat FSU. There is no doubt about it.
It is June/July. Mullen has yet to coach one real game at UF and UF fans are flipping out about recruiting. We need to beat FSU in November (then December and February), not July.
The last time Mullen, Billy G, and Hevesy were at UF, UF was putting up 40+ points a game and destroying FSU.

So were Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, the Pouncey twins a host of other blue chip players. Along with Urban freaking Meyer. Can Mullen, Hevesy, and Gonzalez land the players necessary to put up points on those levels? I don’t think they can.

Interesting points by both sides of the UF contingency. To moderate a little here:
GatorBait24 made an interesting point a few posts about the Gators class currently containing commitments from a few players he deemed to not be takes at other SEC schools. Straws followed later with an unrelated response that intimated that FSU's class should be viewed unfavorably since they also have a few commitments who would not be considered takes in the SEC (I believe a McElwain comparison was made). Would it not follow that UF should be viewed as similarly unfavorable if "commitments from non-SEC takes" is a barometer?
Additionally, I (and many others here, I'm sure) am intrigued by the discussion around Rambo Hunter. How would the collective UF poster-base on tRant feel if we were to commit to Florida tomorrow?
Please discuss.

We would take Hunter in a second, who knows what that kid is thinking though. I doubt his recruitment is over until February committed or not, so I don’t think it changes much. We shouldn’t be turning down anyone with talent.

We haven't been recruiting Hunter at all for a month or two, so I don't know where you're getting this "we would take him in a second" narrative.
When a kid says he would commit you Florida tomorrow but his leader is UGA, you just back off.
Do you really in your heart of hearts think he'd choose FSU over fricking Georgia? Coaches with self-respect don't put up with that shite just to boost their numbers.
FSU's best players are shopping around, their worst players aren't takes at SEC schools. They're not cleaning anyone's clock.

Trey is going to Bama, book it.
Fuller just showed up in Gainesville last weekend for the first time, I don’t understand how anyone could possibly have us leading for him. Please don’t take everything said in this thread as gospel. Florida is in a really bad spot this cycle, the coaches even know it.

If this staff doesn’t take a commitment from Rambo Hunter then they are even worse than I thought. Why do you live in a fantasy land where everything that has already happened doesn’t matter, and everything that hasn’t happened yet that you think is going to happen is all that matters? What happens when you’re wrong again? Remember how confident you were in Pickering? All of our targets are going elsewhere, when are you going to stop making excuses and hold this staff accountable?
