Still not sure I understand the point you are trying to make.. Jeremy Hill, senior in high school, hooked up with a girl 2 years younger than him... I think even you can agree its a little silly to bring this up.. I'm missing your comparison. I would side with ANY 18 year old going to ANY university over something dumb like that... Now... If it was forced (rape).. then yea, throw him behind bars. This was a mutual, classic senior and a sophomore. Just a bad comparison on your part imo.

There are literally tens of thousands high school age kids doing the exact same thing. I turned 18 in high school and I had a girlfriend who was 16, about to turn 17.
Okay. Question. Was it against the law?
Again, and i think you are missing my point. Hill broke the law. Evans has not broken the law that we know of.
I think they handled the Hill thing correctly by allowing him to plead to a lesser charge, for what it's worth. However, there were red flags for Hill and LSU still signed him. He got into more trouble while at LSU.
All I am saying is for people to point fingers at whoever signs Evans need to take a good long hard look at their own program, because we have all signed kids that have had questionable character questions.

You are right, but not in the way you are thinking. One broke the law. teh other did not. Now, you may not agree with the law, but it is still the law.

Evans seems to be mental.

So if a kid does not want to give up his phone he has mental issues, but if a kid breaks the law he is okay?

laws are stupid especially in this case. Look at it from a moral standpoint... who has really wronged anyone here? Jeremy was just showing love in a physical way.

Didn't Louisiana used to have some stipulation that statutory rape doesn't apply if the 2 are within like 3-4 years of each other's age and there is no dispute between the participants? Maybe I'm making that up, but seem to remember that getting thrown around in conversation previously when the topic came up...
I have no idea. He wasn't actually charged with Statutory rape, though. He was charged with sexual assault, so what you are saying could be correct.
If I recall correctly, the parents found out about it and made a big deal about it, which is what triggered the charges. I might be misremembering it, though. If I were the girls parents I would be upset about it, too....but the girl has to take a certain amount of responsibility, too. She apparently was a willing participant, but then you fall back on the "She is a minor and can't make wise decisions" type of argument.
It's really a no win argument for either side.

It was still against the law...whether we agree with the law or not. I mean, so far, the worst thing Evans has done is refuse to give his coach his phone.

Yet, Evans is a horrible person and Hill gets a pass?
Let me make it clearer. I don't think either should be labeled "mental" or "trouble" based on what they did.
I get it. People are mad because he told a bunch of schools they were the team for him, then changed his mind a minute later.

I was not meaning to argue against Jeremy Hill or rehash his problems.
My argument was meant to show that some kids get into trouble when they are in high school, but schools still take them. Some times it works out and sometimes it does not.

Hope he signs with Dawgs. Way to much baggage. He will graduate from Texas State or maybe Texas Southern.

Maybe. Or he might win the Heisman. He scares me, personally....but who knows, really?

Nobody cares who gets Evans anymore. Most elite programs stopped recruiting him. Those who are still recruiting him seem desperate and weak.

Be that as it may, you can step into any high school in America, and roughly half of the senior boyz will be trying to frick the sophomores.

Dynamite. Hope it don’t blow up in your faces.

Odd that every school not in the running for Evans thinks those who are should stop recruiting him. Seems desperate and jealous

Georgia goes another year of getting destroyed in the SEC championship game and Kirby will become rich 2.0. No wonder he is so desperate

Georgia put one in their laws (Google Romeo & Juliet provision) that basically states that if the two participants are within either 2 or 3 years in age with one below the age of consent, it is considered a lesser crime (usually a misdemeanor).
One of the more famous ones in GA was Marcus Dixon, a star football player at Pepperell HS in Rome. He had consensual sex as an 18 year old senior with a 15 year old white girl and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Cost him a full scholarship to Vandy.
