The list of UT legacies we’ve whiffed on the past 5 years is huge and I think stored on another board if I can find it.
I would love to see this list.

It’s worse than that. Before Justin Fields junior year at Harrison High, he and his Dad arranged a recruiting trip to Knoxville to go see Tennessee and what their program had to offer - this was before his rise as a prospect - the VOLS football staff pretty much blew him off - and by then the damage was done and UT was never given a second chance to get back in - as Fields rose to #1 or #2 in the rankings by his Senior year.

Pittman has signed like a dozen blue chip lineman the past 3 years

Butch Jones slow played Trevor Lawrence in favor of Emory Jones. There are literally dozens of recruitments we’ve messed up in hilarious fashion the past 10 years.
It is incredible Neyland still gets close to ~100k on Saturdays.

Jalen Ramsey
Vonn Bell
Jay Guillermo (starting C on Clemson’s first two NC appearances)
Corn Elder
Van Jefferson (Tommy Thigpen called his mom a cunt and ruined any chance we had)
Ugo Amadi (not recruited)
Dillon Mitchell (not recruited)
Joejuan Williams (not recruited)
Tyrel Dodson (wasn’t recruited, ended up being one of A&Ms best players)
Tee Higgins
Amari Rodgers
Trevor Lawrence
Chase Hayden
Cade Mays
Max Wray
Master Teague
Just off the top of my head.
And that is not taking into account guys like Jacoby Stevens and Jacob Phillips, who despite being 3 hours away were not shown any attention by Butch’s staff. Or guys like Jalen McClesky who were legacies and have turned out to be very decent college players.

To be fair some of those guys haven’t proven anything and there’s a couple that Nick Saban wouldn’t have gotten to Tennessee. Ramsay, Elder, Wray... none of those were ever going to Tennessee.

Yes, but the OTs last year were not in same tier as the ones UT signed. There is at least 2 years of separation from the 5 star competition for him.

There was no chance Wray would come here due to Lyle running the show.
Jalen was never going to come play for Dooley.
Every single guy on that list is good

While true, Tennessee is definitely on the right track. If you guys can grab 1 or 2 more top flight OT's this year you will have both talent and depth. Pruitt's strength is defense, and he seems to be getting some top flight offensive players now, too.

I am hearing he may flip to the Vols.

He was overrated anyways.
Unless he signs with UGA. Then he deserves his ranking

Well, I didn't want him anyway (unless he flips).

I was afraid of this. Losing Pittman is going to suck, especially this recruiting season.

So Cade is going to sit out a year to go to a school in a worse situation than UGA? UT was one of the few schools that made UGA's offense look good.

So he's going to leave a starting spot at UGA to go to Tennessee? Just don't see it. If UGA was 7-5 and UT was just coming off winning the east for the third straight year then absolutely.
